Whiskey connoisseurs

So, I did some tax work for a friend of a friend and I didn't want to take any payment for my services. Today, they both dropped by and left two boxes with my wife. When I got home, I opened them up and found these.

I'm not a drinker, so I'm not sure at what level they are. I called and expressed my gratitude and told them that I would hold on to each bottle for a special occasion.

Any feedback from the whisky connoisseurs?

I'm not an expert but after some quick googling it looks like you have at least couple grand worth of scotch there. With a box like that you know its special.

Your thread says whiskey but your pix show whisky?

Where do you want to go with this?

Is this one of those Tudor (whiskey) v Rolex (whisky) threads?

King George V is one of my favorites. It’s about $360/bottle. Very smooth!!

Even though you do not drink, any guest who does and enjoys fine scotch will be extremely pleased to be offered such fine spirits. They are superb! An old fashioned glass will do, a glencairn would be traditional, and one cube of ice or none (neat) will suffice.

Enjoy the look on their face when you offer and they partake!

That is fantastic stuff. Worth savoring and enjoying at special occasions.
I hope my tax attorney is not reading this..my usual cab (Amici) that I gift him isn’t quite this :)

Those are petty SERIOUS items. King George is a three digit bottle of an impressive whisky, now, for the John.....limited edition (I believe only 300 or so bottles made), and well into the 4 digit price tag.

The reason both bottles could easily fetch the price of a OP39 tells you they are special. My two cents, King George for fantastic moments and The John for EXTREMELY UNIQUE moments, like opening it with that friend of yours.
