Men's Vogue lists DSSD in top 5 timepieces likely to give return on investment

Check this article out ... of course they give list as $8975. Is that right?

Just took this photo (poor quality) with iPhone in Atlanta airport.

If only we could 'know' which are likely to return as an investment...I'd go buy three!

Nice article though - forgive my skepticism; it's kind of like 'I've got a stock tip for you...'

as soon as you buy a retail priced DSSD and you've strapped it to your wrist; walked clear of the bright showroom lights, the loss you will immediately sense is around two grand (including tax) !
By the time youv'e grased the car doors surface with the clasp for the "first scuffing" - you lose another 5 hundred bucks. When you lite off the engine and make your way home, enough perspiration has reached the knurling of the case back to the tune loss of another few hundred bucks...
How does that makeya feel !

I guess since the U.S. markets are at an 11-year low and foreign markets are down 40-60% a Rolex can be considered a worthy "investment" and produce a positive return. Plus, you get to wear it until it is time to sell and fund your retirement.

It looks as if the article essentially wanted to highlight what's new and fashionable in five separate high end watch brands.

And yes, while Rolexes (like every other watch) does take an initial depreciation hit, the watches are never worth close to nothing. I imagine I could still get a pretty decent sum for my 2001 YM.

That PAM26 on the top page, is listed at around $6500US at the AD, and they are now selling for around the $22k mark.
One day, mine will show up at the AD , at list

Point taken, but if you can find me a DSSD worn for only a single day for $3,000 off MSRP and I'll be right over with the cash to buy it!

No - I own BMWs only ... the highest resale value brand, like a rolex.

I would absolutely agree with this prediction. Maybe not now, but down the road the DSSD probably will do well. Check it out, the valuable pieces are usually NOT the popular ones that everyone bought.

I've got a Deepsea but it doesn't matter to me if it's worth £10,000 or £1. I'm never going to sell it because it was a gift.

That JLC Memovox could be my next purchase - I love it. It's as thick as a Deepsea too.
