Advice needed: Sell 116500 to get 116519LN?

Hi fellas,

Would like to ask for advice, I have a Daytona 116500 white dial, would you sell that at a good price to get the 116519LN Daytona white gold oysterflex?

I really like the white gold oysterflex, but at the same time, having a hard time letting go of my SS Ceramic

Thanks!

Would love to have your Daytona 116500LN :)
Plus, do what you want to do and buy.
Gotta listen to heart and mind..

Is it the dial or the band you like? You can always get the Oysterflex strap for your 116500...

I am in the same boat. I just sold my 116500. I'm going to do it ...the 116519 is mesmerizing. I think it's perfect. People will think we are crazy ... But I think it's an amazing piece.

isn't 25k a good price already even for oysterflex daytona? what is normal discounting of this model?

Because from what I know, from around here the WG oysterflex, little to no discount because all SS sold out no stocks. For yellow gold oysterflex, can get good discount.

Sorry - 25k for the rose gold daytona Oysterflex is what my AD is offering. I should have clarified.

thanks for the inputs guys keep them coming. i am also leaning towards yes but my problem is, if I will have seller's remorse for my 116500, I know it is impossible to buy one back at a good price. at least the oysterflex will be easier to get

I'd find a way to keep panda and get the oysterflex. This will allow you to make an informed decision about whether to keep or sell the 116500. If you keep it and never wear it bc you can't take the oysterflex off, then you know what you need to do.

If you like it , go for it. I had the chance to try the wg on at a GTG and I really liked it. I have spent a lot of time considering if I would do the same thing!

I’m in the same boat except I sold my 116500. My AD is willing to give a 10% discount on the watch but psychologically, I have a hard time paying $26k for a watch on a rubber band. The 116519 looks great but the sundials are hard to read and I think the white 116500 is more legible.

I regret selling the 116500 and I am on the quest to get another one. If an AD offered me a 25% discount, I would buy it in a heartbeat but you can get a black and white 116500 for a price of a PM OF Daytona.

just to give better picture, if i sell my 116500 to get the 116519ln, based on the prices I would have to add around 7.9k more to get the WG Oysterflex

I considered doing the same but I didn’t. The WG is great but just a little too sporty to me. I ended up keeping my 500 and buying the YG on oysterflex.

Don’t ever part with a 116500. You’ll regret it. Save up for the 116519LN

Personally I'd keep the white dial as I prefer the white face, plus its harder to get than the PM. You can walk into Harrods and pick PM tomorrow. Plus I think the rubber band looks odd.

I too am thinking of getting the WG OF but unfortunately even the WG is on a long waitlist at several ADs I visit! It’s madness, can’t even throw $28k!!!! To get a darn watch!!!

The 116519 is very nice, you need to see it in person try it on a few times on different occasions and then decide.

I’ve tried on the 116519. Beautiful piece. However I have a hard time justifying the price considering it’s the same price point as a dd40 (full gold vs gold & rubber). If money is not an issue, I’d get it. But if I have to give up another amazing and highly coveted piece such as the 116500, I won’t.

WG Dd40 is $9000 dollars more expensive than WG ceramic Daytona on OF.

We need to drop this “same price” rubbish.

I would. You are going to get top dollar for your Daytona. As time goes by, more and more will be available. The price is bound to come down in a year or two.

not this... again

as far as chronographs, to compare apples to apples, its more than SS and TT and less than full gold. priced absolutely appropriately

I know Tyler. It's getting quite tiresome

That was my third draft. One and two were not so polite

I agree with the apple to apple comparison comment. However, not with the other comment. A quick search here in trf will show that the 116519 is in the mid to high $20k range, which is almost the same as a dd40. Let’s not compare trf price of Daytona OF vs dd40 at msrp. Although my point was not about dd40 per se, OP is not even interested in it. So I won’t comment further on that. If money is not an issue, the Daytona on OF is an amazing piece and definitely a buy. But flipping the 116500 to acquire it would be a no go for me. The 116500 is a keeper.
