I would have tipped Captain Sully generously if I had been on flight US 1549...

What is best a custom Rolex or a Rolex that is stuck in custom?

Buy a professional camera and you´re a professional
photographer, buy a flute and you own a flute.

I always tip and will continue to tip. I have never worked in a restaurant, but I've eaten in plenty of them and it is obvious that working as a server is not an easy job. The server takes the drink orders, brings the food and sees to it that the drinks stay filled and tries to fix anything that isn't right with the order .... The server does this for multiple tables and is on his/her feet several hours and sometimes has to deal with some customers who aren't very kind.

So, I always tip but my tip is based on the quality of service they provide.

Look at a whole meal as one expense (food (A) + tip (B)) = total (X)

If min wage increased it means food increased (A) then tip (B) can get smaller because such a big tip is no longer needed. X will remain about the same

Funny enough as I am typing this the waiter just brought my steak and frites lol

That is the current setup with social security. The government tips you less (with your own money) the more you make while retired.

I waited tables in college at a pretty good place, I could average $200 a shift, which was close to $40 per hour. Some nights, $300-$400, depending on party size and other factors.

It was good money, I made the money through my service and ability to sell a "good" time to the guests. A flat rate would kill the industry and career path IMHO.

It's a tough business, no sick leave, vacation, or loyalty. You don't work, you don't pay your bills.

I would. But how much depends on the quality of service and the value of their prices
