Where did you take these pictures (somewhere near Malibu?), beautiful scenery.

Love the watch as well.

Let's be honest, the Defender is the star of the show here. (Another LR owner here.)

Great taste, that D90 is my grail truck! All-around bad mother trucker status, man. Nice pictures and glad to see you enjoy that thing. I've bumped into a few owners in my neck of the woods, unfortunately they are fairly cost-prohibitive at the moment, at least with my account status. I'm a dog dad, too, but also have a little boy and wife that suck the funds out of my bank account at an alarming rate... My 4Runner will have to do for now!

Great Rig! When I am in the UK and chat with people about them they kind of think I'm crazy as they are really just an old farm truck to most. As you said they are indeed a rare sight in the US...yours looks great. The Tudor does kind of have a similar aesthetic.

Not sure about when you last came over but they are now coveted vehicles that have many thousands spent on them and there are companies springing up everywhere who will customise them.

Unfortunately you can’t bolt them down at the minute and they are being stolen like crazy.

It’s great to see so much love from the other side of the pond though. It’s taken me by surprise tbh.

Thanks Ben, my kind of duo!! You're absolutely right though, this is the perfect climate out here...my D90 is rust free!

A cool car where ever you are and especially where they are rare. A great watch, a defender and a dog is the ideal trio for a guy for certain especially in the great outdoors.

Don’t listen to the manual Jeep drivers either. There are many that will tell you an auto is best for off road antics, and I would have loved an auto in mine.

I had a 110 tin top, no back seats or side windows and my springer spaniel who was as mad as a March hare used to run round in the back like it was doing the wall of death when we were on the way out into the countryside. Miss mine loads and keep hold of it, the one thing that defenders have in common with Rolex is the price just keeps going up.
There is definitely a group of folks that think the Hummer is the end all be all and while it has served our Armed Forces well, true off-road enthusiasts appreciate the Defender! Sure it's not fully loaded like a modern day Jeep and hardly has any of the amenities we've come to get use to today, but it's one hell of a truck on and off the road. Plus I love knowing that there aren't many of them out there and it is truly rare.

Just like your pup, my lab loves riding shotgun and cruising around town, plus it helps that both he and the truck are great conversation starters ! Sounds like you 110 was a blast to own and drive, I'd love to eventually find one and turn it into a project. Sometimes that extra row of seats and longer wheel base would come in handy.

I'll tell you one thing though...anyone can buy a Jeep Wrangler, but like Rolex stainless steel models, only the limited and lucky few can get their hands on a Defender !

Thanks Wahlberg, appreciate it! I took a few of the pictures in the Manhattan / Hermosa / Redondo Beach area and also up in Rancho Palos Verdes. Perfect day to be cruising along the coast and enjoying the scenery .

Thanks Jon, you're absolutely right...this thing is one bad mofo !! It's been on my short list for a long time and I lucked out being able to purchase one in such great condition, absolutely love it! You can't go wrong with the 4Runner though, solid and capable both on & off the road. I read recently that Land Rover is producing a modern day Defender, although it's still under going "secretive" manufacturer testing. Will be interesting to see what it looks like once announced to the world.

I got a good chuckle at the funds being sucked out of your bank account, I only have the pup and thats how I feel !

Thanks, I got lucky finding one in such great condition that checked all of my boxes. There is so much that you can do them aftermarket wise, however I love the "vintage" aesthetic to it. Still fully capable, just like my Tudor !

There is definitely a lot of demand here in the US for North American Spec Defenders. While they are plentiful in the neck of the woods and just starting to appreciate in value, you can't import any Defenders unless they are 25+ years older. Best bet at purchasing one is finding one that is already here, it's pretty risky trying to import one in...a lot of shady practices taking place.

Customs and Border Protection seized about 2 dozen Defenders 2 years ago that were imported under false paperwork / VIN's and crushed them for public display .
