Just out of warranty Tudor Ranger movement issue, UK input please...
Hi everyone, my Ranger has developed a problem, when hand winding to start from dead the other week, I found the winding action to be stiffer than usual and noticed the rotor is spinning around. I believe it’s the reverser that’s the problem (weak spot on 2824 movements).
The watch was purchased new in December 2015 so the warranty ran out a few months ago (typical!) my question is, should I send it into Tudor/Rolex or an independent? And if an independent is the way to go, has anyone got any recommendations in the UK? (I’m in Hampshire). Thanks in advance |

Bring it in to a Rolex service center and see if they will honour the newly expired warranty. Sometimes they do.

Little update... just collected the freshly fixed watch from Laings in Southampton! (Which only really had dj’s in stock by the way).
Tudor fixed it free outside of guarantee which was very good of them! Winding feels so much smoother now. Really glad to have it back on my wrist!! While there I had a look at the new White dial Oyster Perpetual in 34mm, the dial is a lovely off white, I’ve asked them to order one in 39mm for me, though the person who deals with that sort of thing wasn’t in today so they will be in touch tomorrow about it, fingers crossed 🤞 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

That's great to hear. You never know. I heard that was the one weak spot on that movement. Mine says hello...
