How long is the "future" for you"? How much "value" do you expect to get in the "future"?

Buy a watch because you want to own and wear it.

If you can aim for 25% discount, then it’s basically the same cost as a Daytona OF and in that case, I would go for the DD.

I see DD trading at around high 20s so there would be “minimal” loss. Of course, this is under the assumption that you’re not going to get any discount on the OF

Two very different watches. Look at your current collection and see where the gap is. Do you have a dress watch? Yes +1 for Daytona. Do you have a chrono? +1 for DD.

Both should hold relatively similar value short term.
