I think if the OP took the black Daytona he may not get the white, which is what he wanted. In that case, it’s good to wait. I’m pretty sure if he is next, he can get it by the end of the year, which isn’t bad

Many are, perfectly understandable. But what if you have solved making 5k's and just wish to enjoy a watch of your liking?

I had a similar experience a few weeks ago. I passed on a Blue Sky at MSRP. I’m waiting for the white dial TT. Most would think I’m crazy for passing it up, but it just wasn’t the one I wanted.

Could have flipped it the day the AD offered a white daytona, made money on it and gotten extra dinner-money out of it, so: Yes, he did.

Putting 10K down and turning it into 18K when you get offered a white face is a no-brainer.

If you had any doubts, you did the right thing by passing.

My wait list spot came up significantly earlier than I had expected on a BLNR. I tried to defer if I meant I would get one of the next ones they received. I was told if I passed on this one I went to the bottom of the list and it would be 2-4 years.

I would've grabbed any steel DaytonaC offered to me at retail.

Good on you for passing on something you didn't feel so someone else could. However that Daytona looked quite at home on your wrist!

I had an opportunity to buy black SkyD and passed on it. But I would not have passed on black Daytona C. Legibility aside (who needs a watch for saying time anymore)... that watch is a beauty.

I know most Daytona owners are passionate on color choices and the white one seems to get more love as well as the SkyD does in blue, personally I prefer both of those in black although I'm not a fan enough to own either so my vote doesn't count but boy that SkyD is a stunner in black..

To be a flipper or not to be. I chose no. I don’t like to make a business of my hobby. It ruins it for me. Full disclosure, I really thought about it hard though. Lol

Glad to hear you didn't settle. I've been waiting years now for a white Daytona C - I think if I got a call at this point to jump on a black one I'd certainly be tempted, but would be stubborn enough to wait it out.

If they weren't he colors you wanted, I think you made the right decision. The ones you want should be here soon enough.

Yes I fully agree. But in the Daytona world, this would give you to do a direct exchange (or exchange plus a little extra) to the white dial. But then the card wouldn't be in your name etc. so if that is important, I can see.

The fact that you were offered these and passed means your AD is pretty close to getting you the white one anyway.

Indeed! Very gracious to leave those watches on the table for someone who really wants them. Would be nice if that happened more often. You're right to wait for what you want and I'm sure the Rolex Watch God's will smile upon you! Cheers!
