New white dial OP is stunning.
Just bought a silver 369 dial 36mm. My wrist is 7.5” and it looks fine.

I'd go with the 39mm for sure, even if your wrists aren't that big...

A vintage 36 would prolly fit your budget better than the new ones.

And a 36 would be a good start on your Rolex Trail.

My first watch when getting my feet on the ground back in 2014 was a 40mm YM1 Platinum. The next year I got my wife the 35mm. I would go with something that I can have a his & hers.
