Finally got the call for the Daytona

Had the call from my local AD ( well text actually) saying that the White dial Daytona will be here this week after two years of waiting.
I've bought many watches from them over the years including the old non ceramic Daytona , a gold Daytona , Batman plus a a few others.

I was starting to wonder what I had to do to get my hands on it , My AD is in a small town and I can understand that they don't receive as many watches as they used to but I really thought that I was never going to see it.

A two weeks ago after a chat with the AD about the Pepsi and my chances of getting one , he said if i ordered all three new GMT's (The GMT trilogy ) that id be next on the list , So i decided to make the order.
The next thing the Daytona arrives , this makes me wonder if spending big can make things happen.

They've always been pretty good to me in the AD , they got me the Batman in a few weeks and have helped my friends get Subs ect on my recommendation in a couple of months.
This has left me wondering if there is an actual fast track with Rolex where if you buy a PM model they'll issue a Daytona to that AD ?

Congrats! Every AD is different so no single correct answer - but you're clearly doing things right!

Is that in a big city ?
I'm guessing the population size will be taken into consideration by Rolex when supplying dealers

Congratulations. At least they honored their list and gave it to you after 2 years. My dealer that I bought 3 watches from only last year told me forget the Daytona list 2 years after putting my name

That's awesome! And wow, you are one very lucky man to be in a position to drop funds for 3 GMTs in one go.

Congrats!

For sure buying the GMT’s helped, as well as your previous pieces.

Last thing they want to see is the scarce watch go to a flipper, when they can give it to a customer. However, this kind of deal makes the grey market seems not so terrible. The opportunity cost and depreciation hit by buying all those watches is significant compared to 7-8k premium to buy one in the grey market and get instant gratification.

It’s all AD discretion. ADs hold back watches for vips and special circumstances (I.e. as an incentive for a big purchase). Very common
