I ended up backing out of this before the seller shipped. Too many concerns around service bezel (which seller said was original) and the dial looking like both a Mk4 and Mk 5. The closed 6 makes it look like a Mk6, the Submariner font looks like a MK5 and the hole in the crown looks like neither...

This was a crash course in 1680 red submariners. Still lots to learn but I appreciate everyone's support - truly an amazing community. I've been on the hunt for a while and I guess the hunt will keep continuing. Or I could buy that Mk1 1680 Red from Thomaspp. Truly droolworthy.
