Mileage run
Need to crack off some miles to ensure I maintain Diamond Delta so I’m ORD to LAX, LAX to JFK, JFK to LAX, LAX to MSP. I’m regretting it already!! :)

Last year I was 800 miles short of my Executive Platinum status on AA, the highest level. I went down to the airport on December 30th, flew from SAN to PHX, got off the plane, boarded the exact same plane and flew home. Since I get 500 miles for every flight, I passed my 100,000 by 200 miles. Worth it? HELL YES!!!

Nice work! Exactly what I’m trying to get accomplished. I’ve flow much less for work this year and hate the idea of losing the free upgrades in 2019 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

My wife and I did ORD to SFO, had lunch, and flew back a few Decembers ago for the same reason, but only for lowly AA Platinum in our case. It was around $270 per round trip, but AA was asking around $1200 apiece to buy into Platinum when we were each a few hundred miles shy. Waste of a day, but it is just barely worth it to us. Especially nice when we have the kids and I'm lugging a backpack of camera gear and two booster seats and I want guaranteed overhead bin space.

Mileage run
Does that status add anything for 1st Class flyers?
Past 10 years after retiring I didn’t make Medallion levels due to less travel. But I also chose to only fly 1st for the past 10 years and never missed a beat. I’d stopped using the terminal clubs since they’re full of seemingly angry flyers and noise.

I can’t wait for the day to only travel for leisure and live by the motto of “Want first, buy first” but until then status really makes life better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
