If I’d wear suits I’d choose Danaos

I have seen a few over the years in the wild, and Phil always wears one. I tried one a few years back, do not remember the model number, but like all dress watches I try, it was flipped quickly at a loss....Love the new Moon Phase.

I thought I saw one but the dial had no Cellini font. Had a small subdial at the six though. Looked like a Cellini from afar.

I tried one on and I liked it. I just don’t know if I prefer other brands with leather straps and Rolex for bracelets.

My Dad has one but never wears it. He prefers his DJ. I am pretty sure it is quartz but not sure if it is SS or WG to be honest.

Not sure it is something I would but over a sports model.

I don't think VC, JLC, Lange, Patek, etc. would make a watch like the Cellini because these brands focus on movement finishing and all feature at least some degree of hand polishing (JLC to a small degree and Lange to a large degree).

I really do like the looks of the current Cellini Moonphase but it, like all the Cellinis, is priced pretty proudly and dealers won't discount them much compared to other brands and yet resale value is poor. The discontinued Prince line is quite nice, even if their slight chunkiness diminished their elegance to a small degree, and they did feature a nice looking handwind movement behind a display back. I don't think they sold well but they are nice looking watches that look somewhat different from most other dress watches.

I agree with previous posters that a Calatrava looks better at a similar price level.

I'd rather get a used Patek Calatrava or used A.Lange Saxonia for the price of a new Cellini. I don't think Rolex's finishing standards are as high as either one of those manufacturers on average.

Patek is pretty much the clear winner in the dress watch category. Rolex hasn't been for quite some time.
