As a former college football player, I will chime. I graduated college in 2009, so I am about 10 years away from my playing days, but I still remember them well.

To give background, I was a two-way player until college - Running back and Corner in HS. Moved over to Safety in college.

In my opinion, the game is ruined. Regardless of the level (middle school or college) a player was previously REWARDED for big hits! Hits changed the momentum of a play! Now, a player is fined, kicked out of the game, and possibly suspended.

Think about it: 3rd and 4 obvious passing situation - Blow a receiver up coming across the middle, incomplete pass, force a punt. 5 years ago you get a helmet sticker for that. Now, you are ejected.

Ball in the redzone - toss sweep to the running back, safety off the edge untouched because he read the play perfectly. Train wreck in the backfield with the the running back losing the battle. Fumble. Defense recovers. No points on the board. Momentum shift. 3 years ago you get a spot in the Top 10. Now, you are being fined.

ALL players and parents now know there could be potential brain damage from concussions in football. Sign the wavier and play or don't play. Its a violent sport, no one is forcing you to play.

It was my dream as a child to be a profootball player and I play for free if I could. Heck I would pay to play.

Have you searched for an adult league in your area?
