I have vacationed all over the world. In April we stayed at Chateau Les Crayeres, The Sofitel Paris le Faubourg, and The Chateaux Mirambeaux. Two weekends ago I stayed at the Comfort Inn Bethlehem PA. In August we rented crappy little Airbnb in Saint Augustine, and The Best Western in Brooklyn. You can find me about once a month, drinking beer from a can in whatever is the next new beer joint in Philly, or sipping bourbon concoctions at The Hop Sing Laundromat.
My wife and I are in the fortunate position to be able to go on holiday just about anywhere we'd like. We've been all over North America, the Caribbean and much of Europe. We've spent nights in some finest hotels in the world. We've also spent time in some "lesser accommodations". We've done this by choice. I've met wonderful people all over the world. Many of the most genuine, friendly, and open people I've ever met, have been in the least assuming places I've been. We're just as much at home drinking morning pints with the locals, as we are at the MS restaurants we've been to.
My point is, if the only places you choose to visit are exclusive five stars, you are missing out on some of the most interesting experiences in life. I have made lifelong friendships from encounters in some of the most unlikely places.
Now, what's the best dive bar in Costa Adeje?
I want to go day drinking, then pass out by the pool.
