Typical AD discount for 36mm DJ?

Can you chime in on the discount I should offer my AD? My wife wants a 36mm DJ Stainless with black face and diamond hour markers. They have one that has been on the shelf for quite some time. I don't want to be offensive, but I know that DJ36's aren't the hottest thing going right now.

I've had as much as 30 and as little as ZERO. Just depends on the dealer. Average I'd venture to say is 5 to 10.

The topic comes up every week. Depends on if business is good or bad. Depends on if you are a regular customer. Depends on the day of the week.

I would be surprised any AD offering a discount right now, even on DJ. That's why I buy grey market.

5-10 percent is very reasonable.

I was offered 10% two weeks ago (on a DJ41) without even asking. It depends on the store, of course, and some just refuse to discount Rolexes no matter what. However, I still see plenty of DJ36's on display, and if the Op's dealer has had it sitting around for awhile I'd hope for at least 10%. At the absolute least, I'd hope for a way to avoid sales tax and a small discount for cash.

I agree. Why pay MSRP + tax at an AD when you can buy it for 25% off MSRP and no tax from grey market when it comes to the DJ. Even if the AD offered 10%, that still means you're leaving 25% discount off the table. AD would have to offer 35% off to match grey market when it comes to new DJs.

15 to 30 percent. 25% due to diamond dial would be my minimum.

My AD offered 30% off on a Day Date 36 they wanted to move to make room for a 40mm. But when I came back, they said they hadn’t offered 30% and said the best they could do would be more like 25%.

I got offered 10% without asking on a DJ, so 15-20 is very reasonable.
