Year of Rolex Laser Etched Crown

Hello All

I am planning to purchase a submariner 16610 year 2009 and I could Not see the rolex laser etched crown normally at the 6 o’clock. However On a 2010 model I could see the laser etched crown.

Please could you let me know which year/date it was introduced for the submariner 16610 model.

Thank you.

According to this website, the laser etched crown was introduced in/after the year 2001 onwards.

They start in 1999 with Daytona and Yachtmaster and I guess all models have it in 2001.

As said usually pretty hard to see; an LED light can help to see it

Very interesting I wondered the same thing with my 2009 16610
Because I tried everything to see it and just couldn’t, although after it went to Dallas RSC and returned with a fresh crystal the first time I put a light to it it just popped so I’m thinking it just wasn’t on the previous crystal.
Cheers:
