End of an Era

Well folks, as the title says ... today mark's the end of an era. My partner and I have parted ways.

We started a business together as 50/50 partners in 2001 and the sale of the company is final.

Celebrating alone as the wife and kids are cottaging this week which is probably best since this is sort of a bitter sweet moment.

Bitter in how it all ended, but sweet in that the business was very successful and brought alot of very fulfilling experiences and relationships to my life.

Regrets, yes I have a few ... but I have to say, I'm blessed. I wouldn't change a thing EXCEPT the following (not that anyone is asking )

1. Make sure you have a legal partnership agreement.

2. Ideally, do whatever it takes to do it on your own.

3. Life is too short. Dont sweat the small stuff.

Kind of cryptic I know, but it's all for the best and all good things must come to an end.

Onward and upward.

Just enjoying a quiet dinner, in my favourite place with Radio Head ~ High and Dry playing in the background (one of my favourite songs) and a good friend/bartender to talk to.

TGIF friends

Me too! Steak and chips: the only way to eat a good steak. (I'd also make a salad but That's just
me.)

Good luck in future endeavours.

Similar story for me. Started Business in 1992 (3 partners, bought out the other in 1994) and had the 50/50 deal until I left right at the 20-yr mark. That was seven years ago.

Hard work, good times and truly satisfied customers. I think we wrote off a total of just $1,000 in all that time - was never sued, always paid our share to the tax man. Wouldn’t trade that experience for the world. Walked away friends.

Remember, Col. Sanders didn’t start KFC until into his 60s.....

All my best to you in your future endeavors!

Best of luck in any new enterprises. Steak, fries, good red wine, a friend to talk to and a Rolex on your wrist. Yep, that would work for me.

Brian, as you know a dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work. No matter how it ended, your partnership was mutual beneficial for many years. It's time to take what you learned and take it to the next phase of your life. Congratulations and bravo for what you have accomplished and for what lies ahead!!
