London ss daytona update
Hi all,
My faith has been knocked but not lost !!!! You may remember this thread posted yesterday. Quote:
However at 9.45pm last night the original TRF member got in touch, apologised profusely about not meeting up earlier in the day but due to work committments just didn't have the time but would be able to tomorrow. That being today. Apology accepted my man. I thus notified the 2 other members that the watch had gone much to their disappointment. We arranged to meet at the AD at 4pm today and guess what? I waited and waited and waited. His mobile was off, my AD is thinking that I'm flipping it for a profit and all the while I'm losing credibility with my AD! Numerous coffees pass and eventually the AD reiterates his position with regards pressure from the HQ wanting to close on the sale today. I couldn't buy it as my credit card doesn't have the room nor did i go with loads of cash !!!! Eventually 30 minutes before closing my 19 yr old son decides to help his poor sad dad out. He whips out his debit card and says "Don't worry dad I'll buy it" !! Will he keep it ? Will he sell it ? Can he afford it ? All i know is he saved my embarrassment no end !!!! "Thank you son..xx" !! Will i name and shame the TRF member who has broken his word twice now? No I won't. Will i do business with him again ? No i won't. : What is interesting is that last week the RRP £5730 this week after our 2.5% cut in VAT the new price was £5430. How the 2.5% cut in VAT= £300 i'll never know. Was the old price ever £5430 ???? The watch is a M serial with an old clasp (bit upset about that) . My son already has a GMT Pepsi and a DATE so now has added a SS Daytona to his collection and he is only 19!! Congrats son ...xxxxx

My honest opinion! you made a great gesture! excuses are just that! man should be judged by his word in my opinion the upside is your son has a great watch does it get better than caring for your own

My view has always been "if the man's word is no good, the man's no good".
If the watch had been black dialed I would have been your man and I would have not let you down.

082013 made a good point yesterday that basically said that rolex wil change your dial colour free of charge on new purchases if the dial initially purchased wasn't the ideal choice to begin with .
