I have been watching James Bond movies from the beginning...
I was so thrilled when I saw my first Bond-movie; 30 years ago!!

You forgot Timothy Dalton's 16610 in 'License to Kill'.

I had totally forgot that George Lazenby was wearing a Submariner at the beginning of the movie. I remember he actually got the role thanks to his own Sub (a 5513), wearing it when entering coproducer Harry Saltzman's office in a tuxedo and the Submariner - which Saltzmann spotted, and left him speechless..
Later in the movie he wears a pre-Daytona Cosmograph.

I really like your 3rd photo: Sean Connery's wrist with the 6538 "Big Crown" on the now famous fabric strap undersized (it's not a Nato!).

This summer I also wore my Sub on the same strap for swimming and diving. The fact it's undersized reveals the bars underneath, giving a pure vintage diving equipment feeling which I love.
It gives an informal cool attitude tool-watch character to the Sub, giving it an even stronger presence. And if someone tells you it's not conventional you can always reply "James Bond wears it this way. Period."

Awesome! One of the reasons I got into Rolex was reading Bond as a young boy. We binge watch Bond from time to time in the winter. I can watch those old movies over and over again. I had a Gilt 6538 Big Crown a few years ago and still regret selling it off.

I started to watch the films from the very beginning—next will be The Spy Who Loved Me. I will get into Timothy Dalton -Bonds after some time...

The first time I ever saw the word "Rolex" was when I was about 11 or 12, reading "On Her Majesty's Secret Service." Bond uses his Rolex (model unidentified, but probably an Explorer) as brass knuckles to cold-cock a guard. He then wonders whether he can expense the broken watch.

I didn't know what a Rolex was, but assumed it had to be cool.

(This was approximately 1964, btw. I hadn't even been a Bond movie yet. I wasn't allowed to see Goldfinger, my parents thinking it too risque after Shirley Eaton's naked gold-painted back appeared on a Life cover.)

For me too and Rolex was the watch that the author, Ian Fleming, wrote mr. Bond wearing. NOT Omega.
