Not, unless you have a calendar complication watch that you do not ware everyday.

Comfortable if you have several watches? Definitely.

I have used those Swiss Kubik made for Rolex for years (7 or 8) with no problem.
I bough a new one recently for my 16618, second hand (but NOS with all the package).

Winders are for convenience only.

I don't own any watches that can't be set to the second in a couple of minutes or less.

Actually, accuracy to the second is never necessary in my life and when I do take the time to do so, it's just for grins.

When I'm in a hurry, I just set the minute hand as closely as possible and I'm out the door. More precise setting can be accomplished later, if I'm so inclined.

For the guys here that have winders, which brand/model do you reccomend? I've seen other posts with 4 watches winders that cost $2,000... looking for something more reasonable.

I'm looking for a 2 or 3 watch winder with glass.

I have three Brookstone quad winders (each cost about $250), all with independently programmable motors. I feel the same as Paul, but I do have some watches with more than one complication, including a couple of PC watches. Look in to Orbita, they are pretty much the best on the market.

I can see reasons for using a winder and arthritis afflicted fingers are one.

They are a convenience but they don’t help change the date for you 5 times a year.

If the winder costs at least $2000 then it will help your watch. If less than that the inferior rotation may actually cause damage over time, especially if the box material isn’t a fine hardwood from a trade restricted tree.
