Absolutely love the dial. But too tall/thick for me. Does not fit my wrist well. Dig the watch, just cannot wear it.

Since I have an SD43 I’m not going for it. I too think the domed crystal is difficult to read

Moved the jc deep sea for the smurf. Don’t regret it but miss the deep blue.
Like the new bracelet and improvements. It’s on my list to acquire.

Like others have said, I like everything about it, I just can't wear something that big n tall. 40mm ...SD4K-ish tall ....is about the limit for me.

116660 or 126660...it is up to individual really...

I used to own the 116660 for a year. Loved it deeply. It was comfortable, but did feel a little unbalanced and top heavy, even on my 8-in wrist. When I saw and tried the new 126660 with its wider bracelet, I can really feel the difference in terms of the balance of the watch and fell in love with it immediately. In the end, I decide to sell my 116660 off to get the new 126660...Loving a watch that is perfectly comfortable (and the other improvements of course, like new movement, etc.) does make a difference to me...

I bought the first Deepsea (black) in 2008, 2014 followed the blue JC version and 2 month ago the 126660 JC arrived. I love them all from day one and my Subs, 4000 Sea Dwellers all sit in the bank locker. Even I have small wrists the size of a Deepsea is NO issue for me. Its "MY" watch at all! What I like more? The 116660 or the 126660? I don't know yet, every watch has its pros/ cons. But I like the 116660 for being the "beast" not being everybody's darling
The 126600 and 126660 are more balanced than the 1. DS but a bit more boring to me
just my 0,02 $

I wanted the 116660 Until the 126660 was rolled out. I think the improvements may be more significant than they are given credit for.

More importantly, I dove in Alaska for the second time with my August 4 acquired 126660 yesterday. It seems that these threads tend to ignore that these are also premiere dive watches. For me it is both my daily wearer and dive watch.

Had the original DSSD in 2008 and loved the watch but the proportions were a little off. The new DSSD makes up for that and the updated movement is a plus too. Mine arrived today but will be going to RSC for service for dust on the dial.

It would have made a difference when I was in the market for an extreme diver five years ago. I like a diver with strong wrist presence, don't mind the height so much.

Maybe for me. That dial on the JC is killer. I also like larger watches.

The bracelet changes make the watch look a bit more balanced and the updated movement is nice, but I'm happy with my 116660 enough to not warrant a change. That option wasn't available with the voting.

That just looks right on you. The dial is incredible.

It's a huge watch, but from trying on the DSSD (LN) with the new bracelet the fit is much better. As is the case size relative to the bracelet from an aesthetics perspective. I think ultimately you get used to the watch you are wearing even if it feels gigantic at first. I'd be more concerned that your other watches will seem to small and you'll never wear them.

I would love the DS, but my wrists can not justify it, even with the wider bracelet.

I bought the original Deep Blue and really wanted to like it. But it proved to be a little top heavy and too thick so I reluctantly traded it. It is my favorite dial of any Rolex I have ever owned. Wanting to give it another go I recently bought the newly designed D-Blue hoping the slimmer lugs and slightly wider bracelet would work for me. But it ultimately did not. The 44mm diameter was fine but the thickness was too much for me. Even though I traded it too I still think about that gorgeous dial.

I was an early adopter of the original DSSD. Enjoyed it for several years then sold it for something else. The aesthetics of the too skinny bracelet bugged me a bit even though it fit just fine.
I tried on one of the new ones and it's much more balanced now. I won't be getting another now though because of the price. I think I paid around $8100 for the first one new, today's MSRP is no longer a good value to me.

I've got the original and love it but must admit that the proportions seem a bit off. Not worth it to swap and loose a few k but would prefer the new if all was equal
