Really want an LV cardholder. Reviews or pics?

Hey all,

I’m looking at this Louis Vuitton cardholder and I can’t get over it. Pulled the pic from google. It’s the “Neo Porte Cartes” ( if you can comment the proper pronunciation, that’d be great) in damier. I’ve been looking for a wallet for a while now and since I’ve consolidated my cards and only carry a bill or 2 of cash, this is all the wallet I need. Does anyone have this wallet and could you lend your thoughts? Cheers!

Have you also considered a money clip ? perfect for a couple of cards and some notes.

You’ll be fine with that. I’ve gone all the way down to money clip though and I’m not looking back. I pay with Apple Pay half the time anyways and only need 2 cc, health insurance card and Gov ID plus 2-4 bills.

Check out Fuere Le Page - you have to email them to request prices and it’s a bit of a faff, but worth it. Their products are stunning when you receive them.

I had the neo porte cartes for a little while, but stopped using it. The reason being, bills folded in half still stuck out of the top of the middle slot. It is also a little longer than most card holders. I had the epi leather version which I preferred.

I use a Fendi one now most of the time because it has 3 slots on each side, and bills folded in half fit inside the middle slot without sticking out of the wallet.

Not the same wallet, but you can see what I am talking about in my photo... to anyone with the Fuere Le Page or Goyard card holders... would I experience the same issue?? or are they deeper like the Fendi one in the photo?

I think that's by design so you can grab your money. Euro notes are even bigger

Go to the store and give it a test run. It will work if you only carry an ID and a couple of cards. Not great for bills, you will want a clip for your bills.

I have been on and off with a card holder and just resigned to the fact that a bifold gets the job done best for me.

I bought this one about a month ago when I lost a similar Gucci.
So far I’m happy with it!

I've had this one for at least ten years and I liked it so much that I haven't used my traditional wallet since. One side is supposed to hold three cards but I find that getting the third card in there is a really tight fit so I only put two on that side. The middle slot is good for holding some emergency cash.

It's held up remarkably well over the years. I don't baby it at all and the stitching is still almost intact with just slight fraying in one corner and the finishing on the leather is almost like new. All in all, I think it's been well worth the money spent.

So if you have most of what you need on your phone and only want to carry a few cards, ID and cash around, this will likely do the trick.

Same here, no looking back after switching back to a money clip from card holders. I’ve been using the Super Titanium mini-Viper money clip. I just picked up this Tiffany “Money” Money Clip. This thing is cool AF. Not too thin and not too thick, yet springy for a sterling silver piece.

I’ve got quite a few!

I find I use the card holder more then the pocket organiser but then I do pair it with my LV phone case which also stores a couple of cards.

update: I tried out the cardholder but it was just a hair too small so I went with the pocket organizer. Many more compartments and has a better presence about it. It’s my first LV and I just love this thing. Is this another bug nobody told me about?

I have a cardholder, not LV... but love it's thin simplicity and it works perfectly. It changed my life. No more George-sized wallets for me!

Decades ago was a LV collector. Here's one of my relatively older pieces from about 1996(?) or so. Seems i wore off the date code from using it as she has traveled so many, many miles.

One slot on outside, then two slots inside. Have three diff biz cards depending on event / situation and so needed something that holds multiple cards. You can easily see the canvass / leather wear at center of openings due to handing out biz cards. Wear and tear is due to major usage over so many, many years. Am surprised, quite frankly, she looks as good as she does after all these years.

TIP: IMHO use Leatherique two-step system on LV canvass/leather. Also works best for raw leather such as jackets, gloves, your Roller, etc.

Good call on the Pocket Organizer. I just bought one after using a smaller card case and separate money clip for about 20 years. I now have enough room for everything and can still slide it in my front pocket. Might have to buy another when in Paris next month. So, yes, it might be another addiction thing.

Can't go wrong, though I prefer leather over canvas. LV is still a good quality brand that holds its value

Had an LV charcoal wallet from an AD and the stitching came apart where the wallet folded after 2 years.. not impressed for a $600 wallet. Have a Bottega wallet now last few years and is holding up way better

szabo_martin, what is the date code and place of manufacturer? LV quality went downhill during the early-ish LVMH days (and first RE boom before bust) imho. That's one of the reasons i stopped for many years. Seems they have fixed the quality problems about 5 years ago (again, imho). Some of the early/vintage pieces i have are made extraordinarily well.

Hey Brother.

I just ordered a Goyard wallet, but I like this model. Is that a money clip on the back? How many cards will this hold?

I have a nice fold over Damier one that can take keys and spare change as well, I love the Fendi Monster, I have that T-shirt, it really does freak people out.

I’d be concerned about misplacing it due to the smaller size as compared with a wallet? Or is that not the case?

Not the case for me, I've used a cardholder for a few years now.
My only concern regarding the LV cardholder is that it screams LV!!!
Just not my taste
