Which would you select?

FP Journe Chronometre Souverain with white dial in platinum or Lange 1 with a white dial in white gold.

If it is the 38mm version, I would pick the Journe CS. Beautiful balanced watch. The Lange One pictured is not my personal favorite.

I'm a big fan of FPJ so I voted on that one. However, I prefer that Havana dial. It's one of my favorite FP dial colors.

The current Journe CS is 40mm. Having tried it on, it seems smaller. It is fairly thin and it is mostly face with a thin bezel. Looked ok on my 6.5 inch wrist. The Lange is a little smaller at 38.5 mm.

I wanted so much to love the CS 40mm but it wore just a tad to big on my 6.7 inch wrist. By comparison, the CB fits perfectly. The Lange 1 size also is near perfect on my wrist though a bit thicker than the CS or CB. Given the above and your wrist size I would be 100% sure the CS is not to big for you if that is the way you are leaning. For further comparison, consider trying on the Lange 1815 up/down as it is thinner than the Lange 1 and has proportions more similar to the CB. For full disclosure, I chose the Lange 1 over the CS.

Lange is easily my favorite high end brand but the Lange 1, especially that one, is probably my least favorite Lange while the CS white dial in platinum is my favorite Journe and the one I'd buy if I were to get a Journe. I realize the Lange 1 is Lange's signature watch but I just don't like the layout and think GO does a much better job with it, even though the Lange is the original. There's something about the beautifully balanced elegant asymmetry of the Journe, reminiscent of original Breguets, that really appeals to me, while the asymmetry of the Lange 1 looks a bit awkward, as if they mandated that a stiff, symmetrically-minded German create an asymmetrical dial and he simply arranged the dial as best he could, albeit against his will. (I really think Lange excels at symmetrical dials, which is why, if you were looking at an 1815 Up Down instead, the choice would be more difficult for me.) In short, between these two watches, Id choose the Journe without a second thought.

Tough choice, but I'll go Journe. Although study and accurate, I'm not a huge fan of how the 3/4 plate looks. You flip the Journe around, and it seems like a working and complex universe.
