Which Sea Dweller ...

SD43-50Th , SD4K C 116600 , SD4K 5 digit 16600 or
possibly and older Sea Dweller ?

How do you see it ? I know everyone has an opinion, lol.

Mine is my SD4K C , I almost sold it and came to my senses.

Of all the “Sea-Dwellers”, my favorite is the D-Blue.

From your list, I’d pick the SD43.
The 3135 and 3235 movements weren’t desgined to be used without a cyclops.

A movement not designed to be used without a cyclops? As a cyclops is just a magnifier what bearing does it have on the movement of a watch?

Had the 4k and 43 on my wrist and owned the DSSD Black and D-Blue.

Only have the D-Blue as it is my favorite of all of them,

Whatever rocks your boat I guess...many choices including vintage. My choices (I voted with my wallet) are the 116600, 16660 matte dial, and the 1665 mk1. To me these signify important "eras" in the SD evolution.

Current love is SD43. Size and proportions are (IMHO) perfect. However, the dial on the dblue is something special. I've always found the 5 digit references to be too close to a sub (albeit without the cyclops) and never liked the "protruding" glass on the 4000 but, I expect I'm treading on some thin ice here as those characteristics may be exactly what some here love

Of the 16600, 116600, 116660 & 126600 my winner is the 126600 (SD42) . it would be a difficult one with the 1665 included too.

For me, hands down, the SD4K 116600. I own the D-Blue, the SD43, and the SD4k,and its very special when I wear the 4k now, so much in fact it hardly get any wrist time as I want to keep it in perfect condition. Sounds crazy, but long or short term, I will probably sell to fun some of my fist PM watch.
On a side note, I probably wear the SD43 more thank all my other watches combined..

I tried to like previous Seadwellers but just couldn’t warm up to them. I acquired a SD43 and love it. The bracelet which I think is perefectly proportioned and the cyclops won me over. I don’t know why but for me the cyclops on a diver or DJ is Rolex and I have to have them.

I owned a 5 digit Seadweller and more recently the Dblue and the SD43.

Although the Dblue dial is absolutely a stunner, I could never quite get past its case height.

All that remains is this one now. I think Rolex nailed it with this one

I think he is referring to the date wheel which is set inward towards the center of the dial which would indicate it was designed for use with a cyclops.

I am lucky enough to own a SD4K and really enjoy a lot of is subtle features. The case is comfortable and the matte black dial (especially in the light) make it a great piece. I like that the 4K, as opposed to the SD43, does not have the cyclops.
The features of the 43 (that often do not get discussed) is the movement. Having a revamped or redesigned power reserve is a nice feature in both technology and modernization. As an added bonus having the extra power helps especially from wearing a weekend watch. If you love the Deep Sea like me but want a bit of a wrist reprieve, maybe the SD43 is a good middle-ground.
In all, I go back to the 4K because of the clean design and its links to previous versions of a much desired or admired watch.

I recently went 16600 since I prefer 40 mm and the 5 digit with alum insert with out dots at every minute position. I have a few other ceramic bezels. Depends on yoir collection. This is my current fav.

Ideally, everything on a watch is designed to work together.

The date display on the DSSD, SD40 ceramic and 5 digit is a bit small by itself, but paired with a cyclops, as on the Sub, is OK.

Tudor models with dates have a decent size display with numbers large enough to be easily seen without a cyclops. Also, the date window on many Tudors are placed more appropriately, further out on the dial.

On my D-Blue, the date window is too close to the center and the numbers are small. Same movement is in my Sub and with the cyclops, the date is fine. The entire watch, including the movement, was designed for a cyclops. If Rolex had made a specific movement for the DSSD, the calendar wheel would likely be larger, with a window placed closer to the edge of the dial, with larger numbers.

SD43. It was accessible via AD, it has the features I like in a sports watch (water resistance, rugged case, ceramic bezel), the cyclops was an added bonus, and its wider bracelet is perfect.

I’ve thought about picking up the 4K, but it would end up sitting in a safe which is not how/why I own these watches. The SD43 gets wrist time-
