You watch and your sports/fitness tracker
So the last few months I have been on a health kick and things are going really well, so much so that I would say it’s become a very positive lifestyle change which is definitely here to stay. As great as this is it has caused a problem. I am one of these guys that had to wear his watch, I just don’t fee right without one of my Rolex’s but I find myself having to choose between my Fitbit Versa or my watch. The Fitbit looses every time. I’ve tried wearing he Fitbit on my right wrist but I feel like a plonker and it’s really uncomfortable.
So was wondering what you guys do? Or am I the only one with this dilemma? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I never have and never will use a fitness tracker. When I exercise, I don’t need a tracker to tell me how hard I went that day, my body tells me that. If cycling, I can use miles and average speed and how my legs feel. Same when I run. I eat clean and so no problems.

I just use my cell phone. Samsung Health is a pretty impressive app that's built into all their phones. I can track my distance, steps, heart rate, etc. No need for a "smart watch" of any sort as long as my phone is on me.

I wear my DSSD 90% of the day. When I train I have a Garmin Fenix 5X Plus.
The watch is unbelievable in capabilities and have use it for everything from Ultramarathons, Epic Hikes, and Ironmans (old version of it). Its got built in music playback to blue tooth headphones and ability to pay like Apple Pay. If you miss a Rolex that much, not worry. There is a watch face app for it that replicates a DSSD and a working GMT with home-base hour hand.

I took my Apple Watch off a few hours ago after a run, now I’m wearing my Rolex......simple.
Some say you don’t need an electronic device for exercise, true, just like you don’t need a Rolex. Do what’s right for you and all is well |

Touché, but more about tracking my steps etc as I find my phone isn’t accurate. I need to get my 10k steps in or my wife puts me on a ban. And that isn’t any fun Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

There is a decent amount of science behind exercise and achieving specific goals these days. For example My heart rate needs to be within a specific range to burn fat, stray above that range and I am no longer burning fat at the optimum level, at that point it becomes a cardio workout , which I do on different days. So for you a sports tracker may be of no use but if you have specific goals they are very helpful. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I dumped my Vivoactive
because it looked like a watch. Bought a Vivosport instead, which is a thin activity tracker. I wear that during the day to get all of the steps I want to get each day, and to track my jogs for distance, heart rate and the like. Only comes off at night.
I wear my Rolex on my left wrist. Everyone knows what sport trackers are, and no one seems to be surprised to find me wearing a "real" watch on one wrist, and my tracker on the other. Plus, even if they commented, I'd still wear them. My choice, right? Yours as well. |

Watch/left
Fitbit Alta HR/right, it does feel uncomfortable for a few minutes but then I forget it's there. Somedays when I go to the gym, I will only use my Fitbit so it goes on the left wrist. |

I wear them both every day, pretty much all the time. Watch on right and Fitbit Flex 2 on the left. I like it because it’s small and waterproof.
My wife and I compete for steps all the time and it helps me monitor my sleep, which I need more of, and steps too. I had them both on the same wrist but my watch got scratched. Come to think of it, I think it got scratched from the old Jawbone tracker I used to wear. I think they’re helpful and insightful. Good luck with your goals! |

I refuse to wear one of those nazi tracking devices. Who knows where that data ends up and what it is used for. No thanks.
