Curious about the opinions of fellow trfers of the zenith defy open worked?

I kind of like it.

I like it! But I have also had an itch for an openworked watch lately . My ideal one would be the AP 15407 but its realistically out of reach because i have zero relationships with any AP Boutiques, I started looking at the GP Laureanto Skeleton.. but now that you brought this to my attention, I will have to look into it!

I like it, but your first picture looks like the time is a bit hard to read, is that just the camera angle? It fits you well.

I've always liked Zenith and really impressed with the Defy Lab movement (I realize this isn't that watch, but I use that as an indication of Zenith continuing to push the industry forward).

Yeah, I have been really interested in the Gerrard perreguex laureato but the blue dial. The zenith defy with the blue dial is pretty phenomenal also but this open worked dial is pretty neat. I really despise the TAG Heuer open worked Chronograph, I just think it looks tacky but this for some reason doesn’t feel or look that way. The size of it wears a little smaller than the 41 mm because it’s so light and the lug to lug ratio is short. I would get it with the bracelet and the rubber strap because it Looks awesome on it also. I don’t know, I’m conflicted I would probably have to give up one of my pieces to do it so we’ll see.

It'd be really cool if you could actually read the time.

Definitely...it’s more legible in the dark than day! Ha.

Awesome looking piece, but I’ve gotten rid of other watches due to legibility issues and I can tell this one wouldn’t work for me. But definite style points for that one.

Yeah I am not a fan of the Tag one either.. seems cluttered and doesnt do anything for me.. I like the Laureato one though, it seems like a nice wearer but it is pretty pricey, which is why I have not seriously entertained getting one just yet

I didn't even realize that until people pointed it out... then again, out of every 10 times I look at my watch, I'm probably checking for time 2-3 of them

So I have enquired about a trade plus cash on my end, and i'm on the fence of doing it. I Love my GS SBGR311 but I already own Grand Seiko and my SBGJ227 is darn near perfect for me. I love the case and size. Every time I put it on, something just sings to me about it. I love the watch. I don't feel like that with The 311. It is a little big , I like it, the dial is amazing but I can't justify keeping it if I get a new piece. Also, i'm kind of romanticizing the notion of having a diverse collection, so owning 2 Grand Seikos doesn't make sense in this new scenario especially since the two i own check a lot of the same boxes. So if I go the trade route, I would get rid of the SBGR311 and would be left with this four watch collection...
-Rolex Seadweller (diver)
-Rolex Datejust 16220(Dad currently wearing, my first Rolex) ,
-Grand Seiko SBGJ227(GMT)
-*Zenith Defy Classic (skeleton/openworked)

My fear if I do this is that i will be on the lookout for more and it will never end. I really have a hard 4 watches only collection limit on me and if I want a new piece, one has to go. I want to settle on a 4 watch rotation that checks a lot of boxes for me, for at least next seven years. At which time I will be gifting my watches to my children as they reach college.

Pretty late response, but I have to tell you and it will never end regardless! You will see something else sooner or later did you end up getting the defy?
