If the original was serviced recently, then I would go for it.

Bulova is now owned by Citizen and there is a disclaimer on their site about their inability to service vintage watches.

I'm not sure what kind of movements are in the the old Bulovas, but if they're not ETA, parts might be hard to come by.

So, my inclination would be to go with the new model, if I intended to wear the watch frequently as it was designed to be worn.

I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to buy both, one for limited wear and the other as a daily watch or one that will be worn under harsh conditions.

I think the new one is too big at 44 mm. I like (and own) the original.

I'll be buying the new as im not interested in the dramas that come with vintage watches
Bulovas come down in price fairly fast and can be had at discounts.
I'll be waiting until these come down a few hundred before buying, very charming watches.
