Perhaps I'll swap in the steel bezel (included in the sale) at some point to compare for myself, but I'm really liking the black. It goes perfectly with the dial and the black bit behind the crown and the inlay of the rose on the crown. Not that black text on the steel bezel wouldn't have, but this looks better to me.

I bought it this way, but I can't imagine it's very different from changing any other insert. I've changed a 16600 and 1680 insert without difficulty.

Pop off the bezel, out with old and in with new. I do place the bezel in boiling water and the insert in the freezer beforehand...hasn't failed me yet.
