In your opinion should I pay the extra for the hulk and get the watch early next week, or wait for my name to get called on the list (i'm on the list for all the local watch shops in Brisbane). I always thought paying was above retail was a foolish move, but am actually considering it.

Would the hulk be worth the extra cash or should i wait it out with my SubC date & polar 40mm explorer ii.

Kind regards, Cloitus.
Waiting for a AD to play out their games is foolish.
Buy the watch and start to enjoy it. Life is short and you won't regret it.

I would wait. The extra fees plus import tax isn’t worth it.

I don’t know he started the thread over 15 months ago. How much longer you think he should wait?

$600 now or -$600 in what...9-12 months maybe? IMO, I’ll take the watch now and the happiness it will bring. Life’s short. $600 is reasonable.

If you want the watch, buy it now. You will get what you expect from DavidSW. I have bought two watches from him and am very satisfied.

Here’s how I would put it:
1- If tomorrow you learned that it will be discontinued next Basel, will that be worth the $600?
2- If you learned it will go up in price another 10% ($900) will it be worth the extra $600 now?
3- it goes now on grey market for way more than $600 above MSRP so I don’t see it unreasonable in any way

Finally if you keep the watch for 10 years, that’s about $0.16 per day!!!!

I never bought from David but he has great reviews and is a trusted guy. I talked to him about a couple of watches and was very honest and straightforward, I would definitely do business with him

Good luck

Me too. I'm less concerned with the principle over getting it nownand moving on with the enjoyment of the watch. And when one talks about limited-run watches then the premium is unavoidable anyway.

Just wait ! I would rather have a "Good Deal" than a "Good Watch" you could enjoy for the rest of your Life ! Unless you are a "Flipper" then you need a good deal.

For a Hulk?

Your money will be safe as the price continues to climb like a C55 Baron on a cold day.

Funny to see someone agonizing over paying $600 aud over retail though. Nowadays the grey dealers here have them at about $6k aud over retail
