Rather nicely made one at that.

It never ceases to amaze me this type of brazen act. Probably would have been a different result in America with US store security !

Gents Thank You for your view and advice. This really calmed my temper.
I am still disappointed with the price increase but in deed if many of the TRF folks had similar experience then that is the norm, I have accepted the situation and let my pride aside.
Ultimately I get the watch I like in relatively short time.
I will get it the next time I go to Paris, in few weeks time. Will send pictures, promised.

The guy said that they glue the bracelet screws with a special kind of glue, so they don’t unscrew with time, has any one heard of that?

Cheers guys.

I try to remind myself in such situations they are just doing their job but if they are a dick about it I’m worse.

Yeah businesses get sued over here for searching people depending on the situation. This guy was an idiot.

No way. Many stores just let people go rather than chase them down and risk being sued. Almost like our banks that make it a policy to let robbers rob them rather than risk a wrongful death lawsuit.

My mom saw a woman walk out of saks with like 10 coats one time

Probably just a touch of loctite. Heat the bracelet with a hairdryer and then use a 1.2 mm cut out screwdriver. Or just let AP handle it

Sorry not to take this topic further off track (happy to start a new thread).

Yes, it's an umbrella (a whangee handle - solid stick). My wife thinks I'm crazy for also collecting handmade umbrellas but like watches there's a element of history, craftsmanship and utility that you get in addition to a style statement. This once in particular is from a German manufacturer called Schirm Oertel out of Bremen. They make some awesome stuff as do a few places in the UK, Italy, etc.

You are reading to much into it, it’s a French boutique ;). Congrats on the jumbo.

Off topic is always good ! But yes a dedicated post would be cool as there are bound to be other collectors on here too.

I always thought it was just Becks beer which came from Bremen ! Lovely looking umbrella, and being German I imagine it’s made robustly and impeccably.

I’ve been to James Smith & Son in London a few times, not for umbrellas but collar stiffeners as they are the only place anywhere that I can find who sell proper bone ones which offer the right level of flexibility and rigidity.

I understand your frustration but such is the world of watches today. I would gladly pay the price increase and get the watch. I ve been told no more watches available at boutique for rest of the year here in the US.

The same everywhere.. my boutique sales told me when I placed my order (15400 blue dial) that if there's a price increase before delivery, the customer is on the hook for that increase.

I guess at least I was told ahead of time..

New York or Miami. If you’re just seeking a 15400 silver or black I’m sure you can get one in a reasonable time period.

FWIW, my sales rep at the NYC boutique told me they are sold out of all dial color 15400s for the rest of the calendar year. They won't take any more deposits.

Damn. That’s nuts. Sold out before the fourth quarter is even getting started.

This is standard practice. When are you expected to get yours?

Wow! When will they start taking deposits again? I’m sure the “list” for the blue dial is quite deep.

Made the deposit for my 15450 blue in late June and just collected it this week without any price increase in Singapore.
