But that would be on a case by case basis, which is a bit like asking the length of a piece of string!

I know with AP the service and refinish are priced separately so you need to add the 350chf for the finishing plus local local taxes on the overall price.

And this is where bad rumors continue and why people believe this garbage. I have found APSC to be completely reasonable given the caliber. And I have never had a service cost this high, I own 5 AP's.

I have never had a service invoice in the price range of your first post. Polishing is obviously optional and they charge a very reasonable price for that, can do all or parts you specifically request. Unless badly worn parts need to be replaced (unlikely), an overhaul cost will be right in line with what is on their site. If you beat the hell out of it and parts need to be replaced, the cost will obviously go up.

Like I said, I have never had an issue with APSC and been very pleased with their service/costs over the years.

Except for the extract and authentication fees:
250 for extract
1000 for authentication?

What does Patek or Omega charge for these?

$1,000 to get papers reissued sounds pretty reasonable to me. Buy an A serial RO and only $1k to issue a nice book authenticating a vintage watch. Money well spent.

Not bad at all.

It’s a positive I think the service and polishing are totally separate as you won’t end up getting a polish job that wasn’t wanted as per some other brands.

Paid $1100 including tax for a 3120 movement only service in June 2018. Came back in about 3 weeks and runs like a charm.

Paying around $1,000 for complete service on my Diver. Was told that the 44mm Chrono are around $1,500.

It depends. I would avoid going through an AD and try to send it direct to APSC.

In Canada, had an AD quote me $5000 CAD for fUll servicing. Sent it direct to Ottawa for almost half that price.

My Bumblebee was about 1800 euro. Not cheap, but not too bad either.

rolex can be close to 1k for an 8k watch. So 1.5k to 2k for a 30k watch isnt fair?

What about RSC servicing a Tudor? AFAIK its the same price as a Rolex. One service is over 33% of the cost to buy a new one instead.

Its not about the price to me, its about the cost to service an item relative to the overall cost of the watch. Paying a larger percentage of what it would cost to just buy a new watch instead is the real value argument when looking at the decision to service it. Kind of like with a car that gets into an accident... at what point is it considered "totaled" and you don't fix it

no first hand knowledge, but ive heard something to that effect. If its the case, that has to be one of the most expensive watches to service there is relative to its cost.
