What year did the Ladies President get larger
Shopping for a preowned Ladies President about 10 years old. The internet touts the current Ladies President as the "newer/larger/heavy" model, does anyone know the exact year Rolex changed the size of this watch?
The model is a white gold with diamonds around face & lugs (179159) Datejust In addition there seems to be more choices to purchace these watches (10 year preowned) in Platinum... I am afraid of the upkeep potential... Anyone know what that looks like compared to a white gold model... I do LIKE shine! |

If it's 10 years old then the ladies model back then had a 26 mm case size. The new ladies date just (from about two years ago) was scaled up to 28 mm.
Gold or platinum will show a patina fairly quickly, it isn't as robust as steel. It will certainly look shiny when new, but it won't last long. That's one of the features of precious metals. In terms of colour, platinum is slightly greyer than 18ct white gold. |
