Thoughts on putting a NATO on my formula 1

Ever since i got my SubC date I’ve started to neglect my Tag. My Tag was a gift from my father for college graduation and means a lot to me. However, I’ve noticed with being spoiled with the oyster bracelet, I don’t enjoy wearing the Tag as much. My thoughts were to get a black or black/grey nato and make my Tag my “weekend warrior” watch for doing all of the outdoor activities I enjoy. What are your guys thoughts on putting a nato on this? Also any suggestions on quality straps? I did a little research and found crown and buckle. Any suggestions welcomed! Thanks in advance!

Dean, I think that your Tag is stunning. You point out that it was a present from your dad, I would wear it on special occasions rather than use it as a sort of weekend beater. It's just to good and special not to pass on to your next generation.

Plus, looking at the lugs, I’m not sure that a NATO would work, anyway.

I think it is a great idea. My first watch that I thought geez this is nice was a formula 1. I got it around 18 years ago as a very generous gift from my mother who felt bad for me having lost my swiss army. I found the swiss army a few months later but never wore it much having the heuer.

Go for it! I have a formula 1 that I wear occasionally at the beach and stuff that I put on nato straps. I actually got my straps from crown and buckle. I swap them out every so often with new straps.

Looks like it has shrouded lugs. So I am not sure you can use a nato. You might be able to take the spring bars out and then put the nato on first.

Either way if this was from Dad it wouldn't be a beater.

Oh and there are definitely better options in natos then C&B.

I have a different Tag Formula 1, but with the same lugs. A nato will not fit well.
You can get 2 piece nato straps that will work.

Or my preference was to strap it to a rubber strap. Mine is also very sentimental to me, and is still an active piece in my rotation.
