DONE!

Stopped by the morning, looked at it, bought it.

It's being shipped to me (AD is in another state).

Will have it on Tuesday.

This is the same place I got my Sub Date back in May, and had purchased 7 other watches in the past.

AD is confident a Daytona can be had...

I've been contemplating being in the same situation. I have the cash to buy now but am also saving separately as to not put a dent in my savings. But If I did get the call I would gladly put down the cash since the watch I'm waiting for sells for almost double retail.

Exactly. When I looked for a Sub Date, I was warned about "the list" from local ADs. Then I remembered I had a history with one (long story why I forgot about the 6 Tag Carreras I bought in one day is explained in my first posts here.)

Suddenly, I was able to get a Sub Date the same day. Asked about getting on the Daytona list and was met with pleasant but realistic reaction "Sure, but it could be a long time"...

Stopped back in to ask about the Daytona again. Warmer reaction, but cautioned about the wait.

Stopped in yet again to ask about the Daytona...and a BLNR. "We can get you the GMT."

When I got the call about the Batman, I wasn't even excited. "Sorry, not in the market now." Then I stopped and thought of the big picture. "Actually....I'll swing by tomorrow."

Now I have a Sub Date on my wrist and a BLNR on a FedEx truck. I'll have time to get used to both. And see what happens with a Daytona.

If/when the Daytona comes in, I'll have some reckoning to do about what stays and what goes.

Knowing me, I'll have all three in my growing collection!

Great decision

I bought a blnr in 2015 but ended up being made redundant a week later so i returned it. Worse decision I’ve ever made. I paid £5350 for it, gone but not forgotten. Should have kept it and worried about tomorrow tomorrow lol
