Making sure my 116500LN is authentic

Dear all,

I am new to this forum and just registered in order to get some help from the community. I went through a lot of threads and was impressed by the number of replies and how helpful everyone was here.

I have been waiting for a long time to get my 116500LN and was never able to get it from an AD... Not even able to put my name on a waiting list!

As I was getting obsessed with this watch, I bought it today from a non official dealer, but still a reputable shop trading watches. They have an impressive collection by the way and have all the limited edition / rare watches. I got it with the box, papers, warranty... However, even though it is unlikely, I am a little bit worried about the authenticity. What would be the first things you would look at? I am not an expert but I own a few pieces and believe I would be able to spot a "gross" fake watch... However, I was told that some fakes today are extremely difficult to spot.

Any tips guys?

Tried to upload some pictures but I'm struggling to do it from my phone!
Thanks in advance for your help!

Pictures would help as there are some very astute people on this board.

Other thing would be to take to watchmaker or AD and have them check it out depending on what's available in your area.

I’m sure it’s real, but post pictures. Did you purchase new?

If you’re in a city with an RSC they can authenticate it. I’ve heard of them charging for doing so, but you could also ask for them to do something like resize the bracelet and that may be a backdoor way of doing it.

I don't think many dealers in the UAE are selling fake stuff. Especially if you bought it from a high-end jeweler. There is no need for that in such a wealthy country with loads of exotic cars on the road. Your Daytona is most likely 100% authentic.

Buy the seller! Always holds true. I’d you said it’s a reputable seller then don’t worry about it. But for $100 you can take it to an AD (free if you know them) and have it Authenticated

Hi Mbesri

If you’re in Dubai , you can walk into the service centre on SZR me trade centre. Just be polite and ask if one of the guys minds quickly taking the back off to check your watch.

They have done it for me , they just tell you that they cannot provide paperwork but will let you know if there are ‘any problems’

Hope it helps

Don't worry, the seller will have much more problems in Dubai than you if it's a fake

Very unlikely to be a fake, they still have problems making this chrono so no credible store would fall for the fake. Lets see pics to confirm.

You're probably good but why not do your research before hand?
I couldn't drop that kind of cash without 100% certainty.

Hi Congrats on your new watch, I am actually travelling into Dubai to pick up my white face Daytona C from a Grey seller there. Out of curiosity, would you be able to give me an idea of how much you paid? I am getting quoted AED79000 and wanted to know if that was reasonable?

If you don't wish to reveal the price thats fine too... enjoy your watch in good health! :)

I got my Sub authenticated at my local AD. I looked for all the obvious stuff and checked the weight. I was confident. And the selling dealer was well regarded. But when my AD offered to look it over and I was happy to accept.

Post a picture and I can tell you if it's fake or not.

Another way... Does warranty card serial match the laser engraving? :-)

Can't just put up a thread and not post pics

Just cannot understand these types of post you have bought the watch and now you seek authenticity.Shurely the right thing was check authenticity before you bought it.But it's very doubtful any reputable shop would sell anything fake.
