HI Mark. I am ordering a St. Pierre from the SF store. As a first time customer they require you to wire the funds. A bit of a pain but oh well. Once set up you can use CC. I'll post some pics when it get's here.

How's the golf game? just ordered some i500's.

Hey Brother, Nice! And thanks. They responded to my email today actually and yes need to wire. I am looking at the Royal Blue but debating on size. Usually carry old school big check book style but may try the more medium size.
Lol, golf is down and up. As in down to 3, then up to 6. Inconsistent year. I just did a fitting and replaced shafts in irons and wedges and went to a 38” Cameron dual balance. I hit those ping blades during my fitting. Awesome look and feel! Nothing performed better than my current Mizuno heads just going from X to S shafts. Aging my man. Speed is down

I'm new to the luxury wallet world and I don't want to hijack this thread, but I've got a relatable question.

Do the vertical style wallets have a particular name? I know LV calls there's a pocket organiser, but can't seem to find many other companies offering something similar!! All I've managed to find is what's been mentioned in this thread; LV, FLP, Goyard, and Chester Mox.

I was always a Tumi guy but now am transitioning to LV. I have the wallet, iPhone X case, duffel bag and last week picked up a new briefcase.

They used to be called front pocket wallets. I don’t know that i have seen a particular name as of late. The really small ones without a money clip are called card holders in most cases.

Check out , Monk Made Goods. Jason Boone is the owner and one heck of a craftsman . I had him make me a beautiful ,Bourbon Shell Cordovan wallet . It’s truly a work of art . It takes approx 4-5 weeks for him to craft your leather goods . His website is very informative and Jason will answer any questions, you might have . He’s the type of guy , you just want to do business with . Good luck .

Thanks for the tip. On my phone they look really nice. Made it thru Paris without a Goyard of FLP wallet. My wife wasn’t too fond of the look and honestly, I’m not sure it’s my look. So when we get back from Switzerland, I’ll check this out (assuming the Zurich airport doesn’t entice me with some Duty Free offering).

I bought this LV wallet. It’s a little thick and wide for me even though it’s the slender model. But it looks great

I own several LV pieces from the Damier Graphite range and I have to say I really like this coloring with the blue inside and the blue stitching!

Does anyone know if LV has a duty free shop at the Zurich airport? Just in case PP doesn’t have any 5711s and Rolex doesn’t have any SS Daytonas?

If you like mine, you may like this one even more: I just wasn’t able to locate it anywhere. It’s a little more interesting inside!!!

Also available in Pocket Organizer

+1 for Monk Made Goods... I had Jason make me a custom card case and he really knocked it out of the park. He was very patient with my many questions and suggestions on what I wanted to do. I just got it today and love it! Don't hesitate to work with Jason and buy one of his beautiful pieces! Great guy and he does his work all hand made here in the USA..

I have an LV Damien card holder with money clip. More than enough. Not to mention you can put it in your front pocket to save your back. You may need to audit your wallet and figure out what you need vs what your just carrying. I too moved up from coach. My next however may be a Goyard or FLP. Only concern is while being in the room while the wife watches 500 purse reviews on YouTube, they are both generally regarded as less durable/less “everyday” than LV.

While buying a wallet, make sure that its safety is more important than its fanciness.

Wallet Advice

I’ll be honest due to time constraints I’ve only glanced over the replies, my card holder wallet addiction most likely surpasses my watch one

Any canvas based style you like regardless of brand and price point will develop cracking and pealing on the folds, don’t get me wrong they’ll last for ages but if this is the kind of thing that will bug you avoid!

I still use folding wallets but more like the style of the pocket organiser from LV or the Goyard equivalent, but prefer non folding options.

My collection now really rotates around card holders and a money clip if required not only does this keep the overall thickness low but allows it to be in one or two pockets which ever you prefer and again this helps to keep the thickness to a minimum.

I have card holders which range for 4 to 7 card slots and this covers all bases.

Small selection I’m currently rotating

My daily is a Saint Laurent wallet. I'm extremely impressed with the quality and it has held up very well with decent use.

When I want something slimmer I use my Goyard credit card holder which has also held up well.

OP update here:

So we went to Europe a month ago. We happened to stay half a block away from Goyard, a block from LV and two blocks from Feure le Page. I looked at all three. My wife was not too keen on the flashy look of Goyard and TBH, I wasn't sure if I was either. I like that it's way different than any other wallet I've seen, but wasn't sure it was me. Her muted enthusiasm was enough to mute mine. Also the ~$100 premium they charge on even a little credit card holder to change from black to a "color" or to have black with brown leather rather than black with black leather just struck me as an indication of how much they were pushing their premium pricing.

FLP didn't do much for me in person, and I didn't buy anything at LV. So I came back empty handed. I've been perusing eBay for subtle looking, thin LV wallets a bit. That remains a possibility. But I just took another look at the handmade wallets of Monk Made. I must say that they are beautiful and look well made, US made and hand made. I think I may go in that direction. I am considering getting an everyday wallet as well as a credit card holder for ultra thin special occasion use. Thanks for all the advice!

Have you ever looked at Saddleback Leather? They make outstanding products. Not as fancy as LV or the others but highly functional and quality is second to none. I have a briefcase, a card wallet, and a passport wallet. They make all kinds of different products, journals, suitcases, backpacks, etc. https://saddlebackleather.com/, their slogan is "They'll fight over it when you're dead".

I haven't read the entire thread, but have you checked Chester Mox? Handmade in the US leather goods, with standard products, but they can be customized to your wishes.
I have a #58 compact bi-fold wallet, but had the size adjusted to hold EU sized notes and am very happy with the result and quality.
I use it since a year as my only wallet and it holds up very well.

Agree! Saddleback products are top notch! I just purchased the large backpack and was blown away by the quality. For wallets I use John Allen Woodward. His specialty is alligator and crocodile. Quite a bit more expensive than the fancy euro names. However the quality is much superior.
