You can buy collar extenders at most dry-cleaning shops. It's a little loop of elastic thread with a button that people use to give themselves an extra 1/4 inch in the collar - but they can be used on a cuff the same way.

I've gone to buying shirts that have enough room for both a wrist and a watch.

Talbot (I used to buy them at Nordstroms) is another shirt brand that doesn't work.

I wear a pair of black elastic stretch "knot" style links with a double cuff.

1. It allows for stretch to cover the watch.

2. The are kinda to the watch and prevent scratches.

Richard, that is the complete opposite reason that I think most of us wear a Rolex, they are for us to enjoy, not to show off. You go leaving it out like that and people will think you want them to notice, which is definitely not the kind of impression you want to make.

Thanks for the great replies. Most of my shirts come from Nordstroms also, and none of them really accomodate my GMT2C. I have 8" wrists and while my cuffs aren't tight, there is just not really any room for a watch.

The "watch cuff" is crazy, lol. I don't think I am that fashion forward.

The party was at a law firm, and I ended up letting the watch fall below the cuff and leaving it at that. Being from the south, where rolled up sleeves are the standard, I would have preferred to go that route, but in stuffy NYC environments it seems to stick out a little.

I really like the idea of buying some shirts with double button cuffs and leaving the lower button open. (For some reason all of my shirts are single button or french cuff)

I have a Tiffany dress watch that is very thin, but it seems cheap now compared to my Rolex and I can't bring myself to take off my newly beloved GMT2C to put it on.

My wife will probably kill me, but I find myself beginning to wonder how well a used DayDate would slide in under a cuff...DAMN THIS FORUM. It's like throwing gasoline on a fire, that's what it is!

Sounds very LTJB to me... I've emailed them to check, so will let you know.
If you like that kinda thing, check out Omni Trio ...

Watchcuff though... not for me.... looks a bit silly really......

I agree Trevor.

Frankly I enjoy flashing my good looks, good taste and good fortune to the general public as Richard says, but around business associates and casual acquaintances I feel like I have to be more careful about the impression I am making. I don't want to be the "flashy guy" who suddenly makes people feel stupid for wearing an Invicta. I do however like to be perceived as the successful guy with excellent taste, so I love wearing the watch but feel I have to be a little careful not to shove it in people's faces.

When my wife complains I am going to point her to you and say you egged me on.

We should organize a NYC get together after the holidays, have a few drinks and go storm Wempe's.

The Explorer II with the white dial is just exquisite IMO, but my next target will probably be a dress watch so as to round out my budding collection. I could quickly learn to love a 18XXX with white dial and gold romans. There is a picture of one that someone often flashes here on the forum that really speaks to me.

I have been having the same problem in the last year with Nordstrom shirts. My wrists are nearly 8 inches and a sub does not slide all the way underneath some of the shirt cuffs. The french cuff shirts are 50/50 as well. You may want to try a couple of the double button models as it allows like you said, for one cuff button to remain open.

In the UK we wear cufflinks with a dress shirt and it always has double cuffs so unless you have wrists like a grizzly it isn't a problem.

Since I always wear my dressy wife beater to important functions, I do not have that problem.

I like the sound of that, wife beater vest and a Rolex. It could catch on.

As always, I'm not afraid to give my opinion, but it sounds to me as if you just want people to notice your watch

Thin "dress watches" are girly and cheap looking. Go with the Rollie at any cost! ;)

I think there are quite a few really nice dress watches out that don't look girly or cheap at all.Saying that, I think most Rolex models work on all levels.

Apart from maybe the Leopard Daytona........
