Talk to me about regrets

TRF, happy halloween. I am the proud owner of a hulk and a new CHNR. I love the CHNR, but I have recently realized that I am one watch guy. I have taken a great deal of time to think about it, and I think I'm going to sell the CHNR.

Question. Will I regret this? I do have an emotional attachment to it, but just not as much as my hulk. Thanks in advance.

I recently went down to one Rolex and my life is still the same. I do want a BLRO but I’m not holding my breath.

Looks are subjective but with the CHNR you get the best of both worlds. That watch has it all, sportiness, elegance, beautiful rose gold, etc etc. Good luck with your decision!

I have bought and sold both so I feel like I am a credible source on this matter. I regretted selling them both but regretted selling the LVc more and to-date is the only watch I have ever repurchased. Hope this helps.

Don’t let go of the Lvc. I think it’d be harder to replace.

I wouldn’t want to sell either one. I think you should keep both and forget about this “one watch guy” thing.

I could never be a 1 watch man.

I need variation and rotation in my life. I've never been without less than 5 watches

IMO It is harder to have an iota of regret if you have more than one watch in your collection.

I would keep both if I were you. With these two watches, your base is 100% covered and an automatic backup watch in case something go wrong with either watch.

Let me tell you about the last time I became a “one watch guy”....

It was late 2008/early 2009. I owned a 16610lv and a 116710ln. I got the GMT from an AD. It was the new hot model at the time and had all the features I wanted, most notably the better bracelet. I bought the 16610lv second hand, at a good price in that day. Had it for about a year and change. never could really get passed the bracelet. 4 out of 5 times I put on a watch I reached for the GMT.... so I sold the 16610lv for the same $4,400 that I originally paid for it.

Do I regret it?

Yes, I regret it.

So that’s how I feel about going for the whole one watch thing :-)

I think the Chnr should be easy to buy back in the future if you change mind, so why not

I would keep. It gives you variety, versatility, and diversity on colors, metals, styles, and complication. Your covering a lot of ground, it's a powerful pair.

I’m a one watch guy. I was never a collector to begin with. As long as you really like the one watch you select, it should work out fine.

I think you'll miss it. My first automatic was a Tag Carrera that I traded towards other jewelry. At the time, it seemed like the right thing to do and the rotor would freewheel sometimes, which I always found very odd. I've bought many better watches since, but I still miss that Carrera. The model has been discontinued and it still sells for far more than I think it's worth,so I'll probably never get another, but I still miss it sometimes.

Not a complete regret, but I do miss my 1016 and would love to still have it as part of my collection. Case was in pretty bad condition though (pitted and over polished) and I was offered more than I paid for it so I let it go.

So, If you don't need to I wouldn't get rid of it and that's an awesome two watch collection. Maybe give it a little more time. Wear the LVc for a while and go back. If you immediately are missing the Sub then maybe you should just get rid of the GMT.

And might as well post a pic just for the sake of it.

Is it even legal to be a TRF member if you are a 'one watch guy'?

Since you're a one watch Hulk lover, why don't you sell the CHNR for the Kermit and cash. That way you have the classic Kermit as well as the Hulk. Look around and you can snatch one up for $9000-9500.

Will you regret this? Maybe. I would give yourself a little more time to decide, maybe put the Chnr in the safe for awhile. It sure compliments you Lvc very well.

You need at least 2 watches to rotate

You will definitely regret it

I know I do

Not a huge fan of the CHNR myself. Got it and sold it brand new as it wasn’t for me
So I vote for the LVc

I would agree! Give yourself a cool down period and decide later. As mentioned, the LVc and TT CHNR are really nice references which compliment each other and give variety. I initially thought that one would be enough, but as time went by and finances permitted, I added to the collection. If after a period of time you're still not getting that lovin' feelin', then maybe consider selling. Unless you're in a money crunch there's no urgent reason to sell. Good luck with your decision. Cheers!

You've spent a great deal of time thinking it over already, you're good to let it go. It'll be around for a while if you ever want one back, and they'll probably get a little cheaper down the road too.
