I've been wondering if the Deep Sea will look OK on my wrist--I need to go to the dealer and check it out. Congratulations.

So here's what happened......
Mark called me a couple of days ago telling me he found a Deepsea, so I booked flights from my home country to London to meet Mark and proceed to fly to Glasgow to visit my extended family.
The original plan was to meet Mark on Saturday at 2:30pm at Gatwick airport and then proceed to catch a flight to Glasgow at 5:30pm. I got up at 9am that day, and got all my belongings prepared, and headed to the airport. I checked in, did all the usual security checks, and went to chill at the lounge circa 1 hour before the flight… and then.. All hell broke loose. The lady on the PA announced that the flight to Gatwick would be delayed by 2 hours. I panicked at first but then I realised that I had 1 hour to meet Mark and catch my connecting flight, so I figured it was doable but then… After about 15 minutes, a sleazy jet representative came to speak with me at the lounge and informed me that the plane, which was bound to Gatwick, was sent back to base. I asked her what she meant by that, and she said that the flight was going back to Gatwick and would not be in my country by not earlier than 7pm and there was a risk that the flight would get cancelled. This meant that I was obviously going to miss my appointment with Mark, and lose my connection to Glasgow, I had a very bad feeling that I would not get my Deep Sea that day, and would have to cancel my entire trip. I called Mark, and asked him if he could meet me in Manchester at 10p.m, he was going out with his girl friend that night, so it was a bit rude of me, but I thought I’d ask anyway… Mark agreed, and we were all set to meet at 10p.m. Meanwhile I still had to find a way to get to Glasgow, I luckily met up with a guy at the airport who was from Glasgow and he helped me book a ticket for a bus from Manchester to Glasgow at 0:55am. This worked out pretty well as the flight to Manchester was planned to arrive at 10p.m. and this gave me 3 hours to meet up with Mark, see some of his collection and change terminals to catch the bus. Ok, now I’m getting ready to check in at 6p.m, to catch my flight to Manchester at 8p.m, when I can sense that something is wrong, it’s my turn to check in, so I go to the lady at the check-in counter to ask her if there is some sort of delay. The lady says she regrets to inform me that the flight is delayed by 2 hours, and the flight would leave my country at 10p.m. instead of 8p.m. I checked in and called Mark and asked he if we could meet at Midnight in Manchester airport. Mark was cool with it although it meant I completely ruined his Saturday night out with his girlfriend. With this delay, I had 55 minutes to meet Mark and get my Deepsea, and go from terminal 3 at Manchester airport to the bus station and I did not have the slightest idea how I’d get there. So I boarded the plane at 10p.m, watched some movies and some heavy strategic thinking. I said to myself that this was going to be all about speed if I where to make it out of the airport, meet with Mark and get onto the bus in 55 minutes. The plane landed at 00:00am. By the time it parked it was 00:05, every minute counted. As soon as the doors where open I dashed out of the plane with my large hand luggage, as I went through passport control, I asked one of the employees how far away the bus station was and how I’d get there, they told me it was 10 minutes by walk, and that I should follow the signs to get there. I got out of the airport, called Mark and saw him waiting for me outside his car, he gave me the Deepsea, I was very happy indeed, he showed me some of his collection, the Milgauss GV, a SS Daytona with a 116509 dial, an orange hand explorer which looked absolutely mint! and the Rolex Master Catalogue for 2007. I gave Mark some bottles of Gin and Amaretto as a token of my appreciation. It was time for the good byes. I then rushed to find the bus station pulling my hand luggage with a very big Rolex box inside of it. I got to the bus station at 0:35am. Mission accomplished, I met up with Mark, got to the Bus station in time, and now it was time for a nice long rest on the bus. Man what a day, I spent 11 hours in my home country’s airport, and went through a lot of mental stress. But now, every time I look at my Deepsea I know that it was well worth it. This watch already had a long story behind it, and I had only owned it for 15 minutes! Once again, thanks Mark, you are a true gentleman |

Wow...that is quite an ordeal. The only thing that kept going through my mind the whole time was "FedEx, FedEx, FedEx". I probably missed it earlier (or can't remember), but why not just ship it? At any rate, glad to see it all worked out & you're enjoying that great watch! Cheers.

While it would be a bit of overkill in my case, since I rarely go beyond 5 meters or so, this watch is growing on me. Obviously I am going to need to try it on. Hope you are happy with yours!
