I was going to buy an AirKing, but I didn't realize how small it would look on my wrist until I got to the AD.
The Explorer was just right, so I went with it. They both share an understated elegance that I like.

I have to say it a second time: That's a handsome watch and strap. The black dial and the old-timey stick indices are really getting to me. At the same time, this example doesn't leap out at you as a Rolex and might be considered as more of a "stealth" Rolex than the Polar Expy II or the Expy I.
[QUOTE=chennney;859051]I love my Air King. I recently had the bracelet swapped out with a Rolex strap and buckle. It looks real good -- a lot more masculine than the Cellini. I'm going to be wearing it as my dress watch instead of my daytona from now on. |

Well its better than a precision manual wind, I would buy a used DJ before an AK. And an AK on leather is better looking than a cellini. The AK is a good HS graduation watch, a Submariner is a good college graduation gift (undergrad) a graduate school graduation gift would be a nice DD or 18k Daytona.

Stealth Rolex! I like it! Exactly! You are not likely to get mugged for it!

I love the AK's. Such an understated watch. Looking to pick one up shortly for an everyday "beater"

I love the Air King. I would have bought one, but it looks lost on my wrist.
That's a relative matter and there was a time when I thought nothing of wearing a 34mm watch, but a larger watch does look better on me. That's why I bought the Explorer, which is of course a beautiful watch with it's own appeal and even more subtle than the Air King, in my opinion. |
