Decided to Sell My Collection
Hi everyone
I have decided to sell my watch collection, this is a direct result of breaking up with my partner and i have now realised that to stand any chance of getting back together, I have to make some fundamental changes. Its bloody hard you know..... 11 of the 15 pieces I have will be up for grabs. I have already accepted the break up was my fault and now need to get my priorities sorted and in order. I did not realise how much she meant to me since we have split up. So in the new year i will be listing my collection for sale. The watches can all be replaced at some later point in life ( i hope) but i am sure you will understand my reasoning. so thats about it. thanks to Harvey.eu, daytona boy& tony gb, for listening to me and giving me some indipendant opinions. |

Keep a Sub and a Daytona at the least my friend. If you believe that she is really worth it, make the changes you have to, as to not only keep her in your heart but in your life, its just a watch, and you can only wear one at a time. Godspeed

Wow...that's rough & a big step all at the same time. Obviously only you know what's best for your life & future relationships...it sounds like you've done some soul searching and believe this is the best approach.
Without knowing the ins & outs of what makes you tick or your relationships, I've got to believe there is a lot going on beyond the surface than just owning too many watches (that's not suppose to come off mean spirited...I hope you don't take it that way...I'm just trying to make the point that we all know relationships are hard and if the amount of watches we owned were directly linked to how our relationships worked out, this crazy thing called life would be pretty simple to figure out). Obviously that's not the case and so we've got to work at relationships every day. Once again, good luck figuring things out and know that regardless of how bad things might seem now, the tough times will not last forever. Cheers. |

Marke,
With a collection like that you would do well contacting the auction houses in london. There is a sale on at Bonhams on 10 March 2009. Contact them or I can give you an introduction if you like. Best of luck

Its sad Mark, I can understand that you're grasping at straws looking for a reason why it happened,..........your watches are probably nothing at all to do with it.
Hope it works out for you |

She must mean a great deal to you to make this commitment. Watches are just things in the big picture, but sharing your life with someone is much more fulfilling than owning anything. Good luck and I hope it all works out for you guys.

What to say
Difficult times for sure, but you seem to be tackling the issues head-on, which IMO is the only way. All the best As for your collection, I would feel like the vulture of Christmas Past ..... even for the GV |

Advice would be inappropriate, so please just accept best wishes on getting through this and doing what you feel best with the watches.

Good luck on selling your collection. Watches can always be replaced. On relationships, I hope you are able to resolve the issues and live a happy and healthy life. Best wishes, Mort

Marke, I join the others in the hope that you and your partner will get back together. The watches are nice, but you are right, they can be replaced. My best wishes to you in your ordeal. Bill P.

In my humble opinion, any woman that makes your relationship with her conditional upon selling a few watches is simply not worth it. She does not love you!
Keep the watches and get another woman.

I don't know any of your details Marke, but I strongly recommend talking to a professional before you start selling everything. Talking with the pro might help you realize that your watches are not the problem. I wish you all the best and let us know if there is anything we at TRF can do.
Good luck man! Also, when I say pro, I mean counselor, psychologist, head shrink, whatever you call it over the pond.
