Will rolex ever return to a date-hand?

I know some of the vintage models had a hand that roatated around the dial, and indicated the date with a hand. I know, (like in the picture below) some of the Celini models have this feature, but will Rolex ever re-introduce it on other models? Personally, I like it and find it easier to read (with my old-man eyes) then seeind the window at the 3:00. Would you be interested in a model that had this feature?

Probably never in sports models but like the looks of it on dress watches. Personslly I do prefer the small datehand, like the size of moon display.

I think there could be a market for an update or reissue of the “Padellone”.

I don’t like the date window. I would prefer this. On the milgauss this would be a cool solution to the lack of date.

Hmm...don't think so. But, never say never, right?

Man, that's a good looking Cellini. Not my thing, but, wow, what a looker.

who knows, unlikely for sports line. Anyhow I think the extra hand makes the watch look busy. I can't agree it would make it easier to read the date, I feel quite the opposite.

As long as Rolex makes the Cellini line, I don't see Rolex incorporating the date hand into the Oyster line.

The date aperture is a Rolex invention and the reason Rolex adopted the cyclops, which are hallmarks of the Rolex brand.

Rolex has shown that where it is possible and practicable to place a cyclops over a date aperture they will do it, as evidenced by the newest Sea Dweller.

Neither is likely to disappear in our lifetimes.

Banker’s date is not really appropriate for a sport watch IMO. It looks good on the Cellini though. (That moonphase watch will eventually evolve into a full/annual/perpetual calendar)

+1

Not only the extra hand, but having all of the numbered days 1-31 further clutters up the dial.

Oris has a new model featuring a date hand. I think it looks great. Very classic. Photo from Monochrome.
