Tudor BB Quality Issues

Anybody have this happen to their Tudor Black Bay yet?

I've had the watch for a little over 2 years and love it, but the pin fell out of the Oyster bracelet. Seems like sort of a big deal, had I been diving w/ it (I don't) it'd be at the bottom of the ocean now.

A couple months ago the movement started the grind if I tried to wind it manually, so I just sort of "shake it awake" now, which I've heard is a sort of common issue w/ ETA 2824.

Losing the bracelet pin seems like a bigger deal.

Can either of these issues be fixed by a "normal" watch repair/jeweler, or do I need to send it in to Tudor/Rolex for service?

Isn't the adjustable link where the screw bar is? This isn't uncommon if the screw bar isn't fully tighten. I use temporary loctite on mine so they don't back out. This isn't a quality issue from Tudor.

Not sure about the movement issue but the screws can back out even on a Rolex. Just gotta put some loc tite on there or check it every once in a while.

Never had a pin fall out ..however checking the pins is part of my monthly watch routine..which includes a wash in the sink a good dry and wipe and check of the pins
As for movement on my black bay no issues
Pardon the pun works like a Swiss watch

If it was to get a grind on winding I would send it in for service...my Tudor style 2 tone started to click and release on winding that's at the RSC now .luckily under guarantee

Its the watch owners liability to periodically check the tightness of the screw as screws cannot come out if tight. And would doubt if you have any problem with the crown winder just use it to wind a stopped watch do not shake.

No issues with the half dozen Tudors I own. The bracelet screw backing out can happen with any bracelet watch that has been adjusted. I check mine on occasion. The movement can be worked on by any competent watchmaker as it appears to be the eta movement. I would check the timing and if it was off or it really bothered me I would send it to Tudor. I believe Dallas is the Service Center for all Tudors.

I've had screws back out of Rolexes, too. I would suspect any screw made by any company has the potential to do the same.

But, in answer to your question, no, I haven't had any issues with any of my Tudors.

This happend to my BLRO as well. Not the full pin like yours but 1/3 was sticking out. Didnt even notice it, someone else did so i cought it before it fell off. It happends, not a Tudor issue.

There's an issue if you hear grinding in the movement...

It's been mentioned a few times, but just put a dab of Loctite on the threads and you won't have that happen again. Periodically checking the screws is a good idea too.

Yes, it’s not a normal/usual feature of any movement that one can no longer wind it. I’d definitely get it fixed as it’s probably only going to get worse/more expensive, and the beauty of a (usually) solid ETA is that any competent watchmaker can service it for much less than Tudor (but, personally, if a re-polish is also wanted, I’d probably send it to Tudor... or RSC? I don’t know how Tudor service works).
