BLNR / BLRO / LN same watch?
I’m sure these details are buried somewhere , but quick confirmation :
The current GMT Rolexes are the same watch , same case, same movement, just different bezel colors, hands , maybe bracelet ? Trying to understand if the BLNR value premium is simply a matter of taste. TIA |

I believe the the BLRO was upgraded with a new movement from the BLNR. Something about a new para spring and I believe 70 hour power reserve.

i was told the blue and black BLNR ceramic bezel is very hard to make with a high rejection rate, which partly explains the higher price relative to the black bezel GMT LN version.

Simple comparison on Rolex website should tell you that BLRO and BLNR are different watches.

thanks, yes, I see the differences now with regard to BLRO.
i was mostly distracted by the bracelet , which i do not think i care for here. other improvements are cool. BLNR certainly has that special something but surprised a bit it seems to hold 35+% more value. I suppose it stands out , lots of LN out there. |

No that’s just nonsense. The same rumour was said about the gv green glass... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I actually believe it about the GV glass. When I purchased mine new, I had to have the crystal replaced by RSC because I noticed what looked like scratches. After speaking with the technician I learned that this was actually an imperfection in the way the crystal was cut. This leads me to believe that the green glass is more temperamental and harder to work with than traditional sapphire crystal, possibly more fragile. Of course I'm only speculating, but this may also partially explain why the green crystal doesn't have the laser etched crown at 6 o'clock.

However, it seems pretty reasonable that the $500 MSRP difference is partly based on the additional manufacturing steps and supposed failure rate. At the very least, it took Rolex years of additional R&D before they came up with their (now patented) process to create a one-piece two-colour ceramic bezel insert, and that R&D has a cost. |

It took Rolex a number of years to develop the bi-color ceramic bezels. The $500 premium is, in my opinion, very reasonable for a far more attractive watch. But I'm biased.
