The Elusive "Chevrolet" Dial Datejust
I've actually never heard of such a thing, but Phillip's has a minty one coming up for auction.
Kinda sad I missed the times when Rolex was more open to cross branding and special order pieces. Photo credit : @phillipswatches Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |

Wow, that is pretty cool. I wonder what they did for Mercedes?

That's a good companion piece for my 1975 Mopar-branded Caravelle

A friend of mine has a TT Rolex OP with the NY Jets logo at 12:00 and “Worlds Champions 1968” at 6:00 from Super Bowl III. The logo and script are in green. It seem odd that it’s “Worlds” without an apostrophe instead of “World”.

It was given as an award to exceptional Chevy sales people back in the 80s. My Dad is a big antique Chevy collector and bought the his and hers set. I watched a video he had all about the watch and how it was made at Rolex etc. pretty cool. He made me promise when it’s handed down never to change the dial out which I will honor.

Not sure how much business Chevrolet did with Rolex but this is the most customization I've seen coming from the factory on behalf of a third party. I imagine it required design and tooling to create this 3d textured dial. |

I've had a couple come through my store, they were done for Chevrolet's 75th anniversary and came with an additional case back engraving, if memory serves. Pretty unusual

And it goes for almost double the high estimate.
Rare bird indeed. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |
