Downsizing?
I am not quite sure how this happened, but I am going from this…
To this... Well, this was at least a good reason to post a picture of the new watch box, isn’t it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Yes, I do like rhodium dials. There's something about the way it changes in the light, but isn't flashy that really gets me. Visibility is not as good, though. |

I have a healthy "play money" budget but judging by some of the collections I see on this forum a much smaller one than many have. More watches means less cars, firearms, motorcycles and other stuff.
I have fewer watches than in the past but while it is somewhat a voluntary financial constraint, it was more because I learned over the years the difference between a watch I wanted to own and a watch I would wear. I have sort of lost interest in watches I won't wear regularly and cars I won't drive regularly, etc. Part of it also comes from finding the right mix of watches. I am in an office setting at a desk 80% of the time and in factories doing hands on , sometimes dirty or rough duty the other 20%. I don't dive, boat or even swim much. I wear a 39mm Explorer I most days. I like my Speedmaster for casual after work and weekend activities and have a white OP39 on leather cor weddings, funerals and more formal times and its a nice change up from a black dial at the office. I have an Omega Seamaster and Sinn 203 for the times when a dive or dive style watch makes sense. I just don't need more watches and could probably get down to a few less and never feel like I didn't have a few good options to pick from in the morning. I understand collecting but I've come to realize I am not a collector. I'm at 6 counting a Gshock that I almost never wear and plan to be at 4 within a few months. I peaked at 10 or 11 a while back. I wasn't aware that "need" was part of the equation. But, certainly agree otherwise. The old, top box has a bunch of watches I've enjoyed over the years. They no longer see any wrist time, really. But I did enjoy them each, at one time or another over the years.

Nice work! I’m down from 9 to 3. Recent kills include 5711, 116600, 126710, 116500 , Tudor Pelagos, 16610lv. AP44 on the chopping block.
What’s left is 5164/A, GS SBGR305, and Tudor BBN ETA Just not feeling the love lately.

I see further "downsizing" to yours in my future . . . .
Yes, I do like rhodium dials. There's something about the way it changes in the light, but isn't flashy that really gets me. Visibility is not as good, though. I own a Day-Date 40 whit a Dark Rhodium Stripe dial, love it. Your Yacht-Master looked stunning ! |

Thanks Bas. I think planning for my first kid has got me considering other more important things.
I’ll be back with a vengeance.

I don't need a Bluesy, a Batman, a Hulk, a Daytona, a BLRO and a two tone Root Beer simply because they exist and I like them. I would just be buying them to have them and I get nothing out of that anymore. I was looking at your before and after on my phone...and still am so maybe I'm missing that you cut the number by 66% but tripled the value total or something? Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk |

What if you just kept one additional......of the six? Like the Daytona for your kid.
A man needs a change-out, a fill-in, etc. while his watch is in the shop, damaged, lost, stolen, used to aid in a coup, etc. I think you would be glad one day that you kept a rotation piece and the Daytona isn't likely to go down in value. Kids really don't cost as much as you think; it's a slow drain. Perhaps let each piece go as you actually need to, reserving the best for last. 2 cents

Wow curious to know why you are making the move as well, if you wish to share? I will miss your fantastic photos as well. Your bluesy pics were epic. All the best.

Curious as well. Hope all is good with you.
I would flip all of them for 116618LB and Platona, but probably find a way to keep hulk LOL. Hope to hear more about this wild move. B
