Anyone like or watch cricket?

Well, i'm only a casual fan but South Africa have just won their first test series on Australian soil. It's a fairly historic moment and i'm sure our Mickey Danish will be over the moon!

So anyone else like to play or watch cricket? Particularly interested in cricket's popularity in Canada - as a Commonwealth nation how popular/watched is cricket over there?

Yep. I think Ricky Ponting's time is up. This may also signal a long, slow decline of the team. Bet the poms are rubbing their hands together in glee!

Still think the Kiwis haven't got a chance!

I just woke up to a wonderful morning !!!!

The first series win for South Africa in Australia
The first series loss for Australia in 17 years.

To beat a classy side like Australia is always special ,but to beat Australia,in Australia and win the test series is absolutely fantastic !!!

I guess this sums it up the best .......

YEEEAAAAAAHHHHHH ... !!!!!

Well done to the Proteas !!!! We are so proud of you !!!! Duminy and Steyn needs a special mention, for digging in at a dismal 198/7 and taking the score to +450 in the first innings.A sight to behold !!

I watch cricket when I get the chance but being English I don't have too much to cheer about.

Who started this thread

Watched us getting beat for 4 days , couldn't watch today . I think Ponting was the only one who performed well. Our bowlers have a lot to work on

I can feel a purge coming on for the Australian side. They have won every home series for the last 16 years, that's not a bad effort!

.... and if we win the third test,to make it 3-0,South Africa will go to the first position in the world rankings...

There is a lot to play for in the third and final test. Both teams are going to come out with everything they have ....we will have drama and a fair bit of "needle".()Its going to be a humdinger !!!!

Enjoy !!!!

So cricket is not broadcast on television?
I always thought Canada was more like the UK/Australia/Commonwealth than the US. Therefore cricket/rugby union would be more popular sports. I wonder why they aren't.

Rugby Union is a great sport to watch compared to American football. I don't know why it never picked up here.
