Any tips on how to take good watch photos? I've read some of the other posts but they are a little... complicated for me

I'm using a Nikon D50 to try and take pics of my 4 watches. Obviously flash has to be off... what else am I missing? The ones I've taken so far look sub-par.

Use a tripod for long exposures you will get when using small aperatures. Small aperatures increase depth of field. Even diffused lighting like a cloudy day, or a light tent will give you nice even exposures without washout hotspots with a direct flash. If you use flash, bounce it off the ceiling and/or use a diffuser. Extension tubes allow you to get closer to the subject and increase image size. Closeup lenses screwed onto the front filter threads can give you added image size at minimal cost. Keep ISO low to minimize artifacts.

The flash don't have to be off, just change the camera position and it will not mirror...
It also helps if you put your camera on "macro".
...don't be too close!
Just try and if you get one good picture and have to delete 20 I think that would not be a problem
If you have fun taking the pictures they will come out great
