Do you think my datejust 36mm is to small for me?

Just curious on people’s thoughts. Would you say my datejust 36mm is to small for my wrist? It’s my first Rolex and I love it very much. But after trying the submariner which will be my next Watch I’m questioning if my 36mm looks to small on me. Wondering if I should sell it to help fund the submariner or just keep it and have 2 rolexes. It’s not like I can get much for it anyway. Again, I love my watch, mostly just curious as to what people think since the jeweler said it looks small on me. I have a 7.5” or slightly larger wrist.

Here's how much attention you should pay to what other people say about your watch:

This is a subjective question with no definitive answer. I personally would not wear a 36mm watch, whereas, I know many who do. My wrist is similar size to yours. One thing I have noticed is that whenever I wear a bigger watch (44-47) my brain gets used to it and then when I go back to a 40mm, it takes me a while to get used to it.

I think it's a classic that suits you well and looks great but the most important thing is what you think of it since you are the one who has to wear it.

Ill be honest, it does look small on your wrist. If it bothers you enough that you have to ask about it, I say give it to your girlfriend or SigO. The Sub will be perfect on your wrist.

Looks good on you! I don't think it looks too small. Looks like your wrist can handle a larger watch as well and a 40mm Sub would look good too. In fact u might even be ok with a 43mm Sea Dweller. I have a smaller wrist and I max out at a 40mm size comfortably. A 41mm DJ is right on the very edge for me.

I agree with this. Wear larger watches and smaller watches feel even smaller.

It’s mental. A lot of it anyway. If your wrist was too small, that is a different story all together.

In your case, if you posted the same picture and asked “is the Deepsea Sea-Dweller going to be too large for me?”, I bet the answer would be a 100% no way. That’s a deepsea or SD43 sized wrist right there. You may want to ease into the next size but a 40mm wouldn’t be any trouble on your wrist.

You could pull off a larger watch for sure. Keep that one for dress up events and if you find you aren’t using it ever then sell it later,

Depends on the look you are going for. The Submariner will not have the same bling factor and is more of a tool watch that won’t get much attention. Unless of course you are getting a TT or precious metal Sub.

You have a larger than average wrist and big hands. You could easily rock a Datejust 41.

But to answer your question, I think the 36 looks good on you.

I happen to agree with mostly everyone here. I do happen to love my watch and that’s all that matters. At the same time I also agree the 40mm sub was probably “perfect size”. And lastly I posted mainly just to talk and hear people’s opinions on the Classic 36mm size. I know today it’s popular with the ladies, but I am really not into that whole oversized watch craze. My fiancée loves my watch. But she is 4 ft 10 and has a small wrist so this 36mm doesn’t sit right on her wrist at all. I mean I guess when I get my sub, her and I can share this datejust

Oh and also yes. I am in the market for the TT bluesy. So it will still have some good bling and pop.

Sell it or don’t, but yes it looks too small. The sub will look much more contemporary on you

It looks like a chick watch to me. I had a 36mm Omega that I wore for decades, but once I went to a 42mm, the 36 felt too small.

I think that’s what started me questioning the size. I tried the TT sub on. And it looked just right. Than when I put my datejust back on I started wondering...

Our wrists almost look very similar for I am a big guy too. Not saying you’re big but you know what I mean. Anyhow, that would be too small for me. I have a 114060 and before I wouldn’t wear 40mm watches because they didn’t look right on my wrist but with the big lugs it’s perfect. You’ll be very happy with a sub!!!

This is what I’m thinking as well. Just curious when people decide on if a Watch is to small or to Big is wrist size the only thing that’s a deciding factor? Or is it body size overall. The jeweler was telling me I can definitely go bigger because I’m a stocky guy. I’m big into weight lifting so I’m very broad and have large arms. So I wonder if this overall makes the Watch look smaller on me

I find that the 36 looks fine in pics but wears very small in person no matter what wrist size including mine, which is smaller than yours at 6.75 inches. I much prefer the DJ41.

Yes you do look like someone that goes to the gym and weight lifting. I personally think the 36mm is even worse on people that are bigger and bulkier like yourself because your entire body is larger than average, then strapping on a tiny 36mm just doesnt look right.

I think if it doesnt mean anything to you trade up to a DJ41 and since you have a Bluesy coming in you will have a great duo.

You probably wont wear the 36mm much anyway.

Since you asked, it does look a little chick like, especially with the bezel. But as my father used to say when I asked him similar questions, I'm not the one wearing it.

Honestly, this was exactly what I wanted to do. I been looking around, and pre owned stainless datejust 2s and 41s are very reasonable. It ran across my mind to get my submariner out of the way. And than possibly sell this 36 and grab a 41 and have the perfect duo. Of course the 36 would definitely have to sell before I looked into the 41

I think body size matters, absolutely. Plus how you dress and how you carry yourself.

It looks too small to me. If you have to ask, you know it’s too small. I’m not a fan of what appear to be diamonds on the bezel, but everyone has their own tastes.
